I'd imagine swimsuit episodes will now be more frequent now given the subject. Or maybe they will even showcase scuba/diving gear! Surprised

So a SoL set in a all-girl (technical?) high-school. Sounds Okay.

quoting the show's motto, ANN wrote:
"In the sea we live, the sea we protect, and by the sea we go."

"government of the people, by the people, for the people..."

If they are going to have a guy in the show (via harem), I will watch it. If not, I am not really a fan of the pseudo-GL/BL shows, so I will skip it.

Had my interest when they announced the Non Non Biyori mangaka was designing the characters, lost it with that synopsis.

And then turns out to be actual yuri... Now that would be a intersting outcome.

Now seriously, I'm actually interested in the show.

Just as there are people who like GL/BL over harem/fan service shows, I am the reverse. This is because I like the boy and girl romance over the other.

Just call those shows GL, using "pseudo" is too subjective, and some of them lean more to the completely GL side, so GL is okay.

Bloomer Maids? They really couldn't find a better name like sea diplomats or something which sounds closer to the synopsis than that. I don't think this will be a yuri despite being in an all girls school and being SoL or have any subtext, it's not from Manga Time Kirara.

It should be just fine to watch.

Or just name them SoL and not be delusional and wrong.
Also a guy would make this a shitty harem.

Japan, you lost me. Sailor suits were not meant to be taken literally.

Quote:
With Japan having developed as a maritime nation, it became necessary to have specialized schools to teach skills essential to protecting the sea.

Here's a thought; Let's start by protecting whales and dolphins.
Also: yes, no and no. This whole "concept" has me wondering where the concept is.

And while this is similar to my initial reaction to the first info on Girls Und Panzer, that series had tanks. Unless Hai-Fury turns into Sub Wars, I can't see how ocean specific this maritime setting needs to be in order to support entire same sex schools of...

Sailors? Oceanographers? Maritime lawyers? Fisher um, girls? "Bloomer maids"...

Bloomers? She's wearing a skirt. It's like somebody took otaku buzzwords and just jumbled a premise out of them. Will I watch it? Probably.

Yet you somehow have the urge to bring this up in almost any thread about these kind of shows.

I would do very, very horrible things to get a Girls Und Panzer like series with subs. Twisted Evil
