I wonder if there is any crossover between Free! fandom and Kotoura-san fandom?

The advantage of being a fan of both would be that you can make a two-fer pilgrimage trip to Tottori prefecture, the least populous prefecture in... which is it, all of Japan or just all of Honshu?

I know the main Kotoura-san series mostly didn't take place in Kotoura Town, but I do believe they used Kotoura Town as a visual reference for the town that her grandfather's mansion was in.

EDIT: I'm trying to read the manga on the Kotoura Town site but the pop-up SWF window just loads a thumbnail of the cover before it crashes Flash. :-/

I'm viewing it on a laptop in Firefox... I'll see if the HTML5 option works any better. EDIT II: Oh yeah, HTML 5 works great. I'd just get rid of Flash altogether if it wasn't the only option for the Facebook games I play.

Isn't it sad that some of the great shows don't receive any merchandise whatsoever? Kotoura-san, Mitsudomoe, examples of all shows that have painfully few merchandise.

I'd love a Kotoura figure.

There's this Haruka Kotoura in swimsuit with apron figure from Griffon Enterprises still available at Amazon (and other figure retailers).

A couple more licensed figures exist, but they were garage kits produced in tiny numbers so good luck finding any of those. I'd much rather own this figure in her usual school uniform from Little Pink Summer than a swimsuit figure, but, even if it showed up on eBay, it would be at a price point far above what I'd be willing to pay for a figure if I had the money.

Good Smile Company did make a Haruka Kotoura Nendoroid prototype, but it never made it to production.

EDIT (4:05 am EDT, Sunday, August 23rd): Hmm, did some people here order the Haruka Kotoura swimsuit figure off Amazon after I posted the link? If I remember correctly, there were 5 available directly from Amazon yesterday but now they're gone and the listing just lists "Amazon Marketplace" sellers that have it.
