First Fujiwara Cocoa passed away, now Iwata? I'm scared for Oda.

Some of the best things to get posted on twitter:

Quote:
"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."

Quote:
"Video games are meant to be one thing. Fun. Fun for everyone."

And his official Miiverse profile has apparently been updated as well:
Quote:
Hello, I'm Satoru Iwata, global president of Nintendo.
Thank you for enjoying our products.
And please, don't be sad, Everything is going to be fine.
Please understand.

I'm crying and I'm scared for Nintendo.
He was so young, and I respected him a lot... he was too young to die! Crying or Very sad

I know what I'm saying doesn't really makes sense, that even children die... But I followed Nintendo and him for years, and I can't believe this.
He couldn't even see Nintendo come back again, stronger than ever. Sad

I remember him cutting his own benefits instead than firing people when Nintendo had problems. Other presidents wouldn't do something like that.
When he couldn't be at E3 I was worried, but I hoped he was really busy, and not ill.

And then, after the presentation, all those people complaining... For really silly reasons, while he was dying.
I'm angry and sad, I didn't think I could cry for a person I never even met in real life, but this just too sad.

Sorry for the rant.

I am so saddened by this, I can't even begin to explain how I feel. Iwata has done so much for Nintendo, and gaming in general. This is truly a sad day for gaming. My regards to his friends and family.

Thank you for everything Iwata-san. You will be missed.

Not to take away any of the intentions behind the message, but that Miiverse quote is not from his profile. It's an altered picture made to pay tribute. His real profile can be found here https://miiverse.nintendo.net/users/SatoruIwata

Iwata left a huge impact on Nintendo fans the world over. I have never wanted to cry so much over a man whom I never met until now.

While his life has come to an end, his legacy shall last a life time. D:

RIP Iwata

I was having a great day, finishing a series, being happy, and then these crappy news appeared in my news feed. I'm sad because he won't be anymore the first man I expected seeing in the Nintendo Directs, saying his lovely phrase: "Direct to you". Now, the Nezt Direct will be the most of history.

I'm sad and gaming industry and community won't be the same.

RIP Satoru Iwata. I won't forget you.

In an industry (albeit, a yet young, small, and closed industry) where people have forgotten that games are simply meant to be fun, people in the industry and aspire to be a part of the industry would do well to remember the ideals this man stood for and worked to accomplish. In the wake of his passing, may we all learn a little something from him when it comes to being a gamer.

Good-bye Satoru-dono. Thank you for what you've done, and sleep well.

I was in disbelief when I found out about his death on another website's forum. Then I had a look at the official document from Nintendo, and there was no denying it. Sad

R.I.P. Mr. Iwata-san. Your contributions have really made gaming with Nintendo a fun and memorable experience.

That was a bit of a whammy.

Nintendo may have lost Iwata, but its reputation lives on because of him. . . . .

RIP

He was the only person keeping Nintendo away from being fully mobile. A heroic act that cost him his life. We as fans and the successor to the presidency of Nintendo must keep his vision alive for the sake of gaming.
