I wonder what sort of edits it'll have. My guess is that it'll be Americanized a la Doraemon.

I personally haven't seen it (doremon) so I can't judge but since yo-kai watch is the next big thing after Pokémon I wonder how it might catch on with the younger viewers much like how Pokémon did back when I was like 6-8 years old. I'd like to see the contrast between then and now.

Targeting a youth demographic, so yes it's going to be worked over like Doraemon. The OP Music is a potential earworm.

I hope it's a big success in the west, just so we can get the games faster.

And I'm guessing they'll have finally found something to block with Doraemon S2 as the second half-hour.
Who's doing the dubbing, btw, Viz? (Assuming Bang-Zoom is still dubbing Doraemon.)
And yes, the theme does break down the crucial cross-cultural information in a way that can hold your brain hostage.

If it's on Disney , there's a big chance it'll air here too sooner or later. I hope it does, then I have a reason to turn on the TV

I wish they would stop Americanizing/whitewashing things, especially when it's something like this where the Japanese culture is so infused into the series. Apparently we can handle the themes, but not the actual people or culture. 9n9
because, you know, it would suck for kids in America to have to learn about another country and realize there's other places and cultures.

That in-house English opening sounded horrific! The auto-tuning(?) made the voice irritating to hear; on top of that, the singer sounded bored throughout the entire song.
Oh and, yes, if the English version of Doraemon is anything to go by, expect the characters of Yōkai Watch to undergo some Americanization with their names and [possibly] their settings, particularly since the manga has undergone Americanization already.

Couldn't care less for Yokai-Watch as it's literally another of those "Find, catch & collect Monster" The same as Pokemon is, however I feel like this is aimed at a slightly lower demographic.
Animation style reminds me of Inazuma Eleven (Both series's games are made by Level-5 so no surprises there)
I wonder how bad the dub will get edited both content and audio wise. The japanese version of the Pokemon anime is far superior to the dub as it retains all the awesome OST's and music, wheras the dub company makes it's own crappy music for it.
