Is it bad that while I still love CLAMP series, my expectations for their stuff are at an all time low? I'd really like to know what is going on with those people; I guess they have their reasons for all these hiatuses.

Also, what's up with Gate 7? There hasn't been a new volume in over a year, even in Japan. Is that one on hiatus too?

Well this isn´t a hiatus but Clamp is being Calmp again. It would be more newsworthy it this point to point out when they actually deliver instead of when the don´t.

I can't take CLAMP seriously anymore. They always make too much work for themselves and then either end up taking extended breaks or just put the series on indefinite hold. This is just a one month break, so whatever, but they just came back from a 9-month one. I get that one of them is ill, though iirc they didn't exactly state what she had X number of years ago, but you have a job...And people expect things from you, not to mention your plethora of fans who adore your work.
Sigh.
At this point, I'll just be happy if Rei even finishes.

Again? Maybe it's due to some unexpected circumstances.

@sarroush: Coincidentally, their X/1999 (American title) has been on hiatus since '03. Regardless of why they continue to put various series on hiatus, it's important to remember that fans can grow impatient and just about stop reading some of their works because of this.

@Kadmos1 X is 100% dead (and so are some of the others) but that is fine as the anime´s ending was awesome and they won´t be able to reach it. xxxHOLiC though had a giant mess of a final arc and Rei isn´t that well received so i suspect that the series is constantly being put on hold as they don´t know what to do. Tie-in´s to the new Tsubasa (i dropped it after 2 chapters) aren´t helping. Modern day Clamp may be all sorts of things but their output isn´t where it was 10 years ago so i find most fan criticism to be valid.

Technically, I'd say that it's 99.9% as CLAMP may decide to resume it or some of their other series someday.

After the cluster f*ck that Tsubasa Reservoir became after volume 15-16, the only thing I am hoping to get from CLAMP is an end to Drop & Drug. I hope that even if it is a sh*tty ending, it at least gets a conclusive one.

One can hope, right?

I just got volume 3 of xxxHolic Rei in the mail today. I feel like I'm throwing my money away because I agree that it seems like they don't know how the story should end. The otaku in me feels like I need to support the title to help keep (what will be released of it) in print in the States...

A CLAMP manga on hiatus? Color me shocked Wink

In all seriousness though, it seems like they need to go back and *actually finish* some of their works before creating new ones. I hope to see a published ending to X before I'm dead, as well as some kind of continuation of Clover and Gate 7. As for xxxHOLiC Rei, I'm really enjoying it (what little we have thus far) and am enjoying all the wild "time-reset" theories that abound; it helps that xxxHOLiC has one of my favorite CLAMP character casts and settings!

Really hope they continue it in a timely fashion, see some sort of resolution to Gate 7, and have a productive output. Would love to see CLAMP become a household name again.

Yeah...you're right. Compared with all of the series they have had on 'hiatus' or 'incomplete' over all these years, I am still sorry to admit this was my first thought.

As a person that used to have an unhealthy obsession with anything CLAMP related, I must say that they push themselves too far with being so busy all the time. So I am not surprised if the hiatus is due to health issues. As for the hiatus/cancellations of some of their other stuff, this is another reason why I think they get about as scattered as Sakura's feathers with how much can be handled at once.
