Love the leeks, but the non-obvious premise (buried in a tiny caption) and comic timing seem way off. Would this do anything for someone who isn't already a Miku fan?

Or maybe that's the point… the only people not already buying Toyotas are Miku fans?

LOVE IT!!!! I enjoy the fact that it's vague. The ad should go over big in the land of monkey see, monkey do. They won't know what to do, or how to think until they investigate Miku. And for the many that are to lazy to investigate, they'll just drone on back to Cyrus or whatever the U.S.'s media imposed "flavor of the month"
I wish that concert would stream here in the U.S. I would purchase the show in a second. No drone about it... oops, doubt about it Smile

I'd rather look at the Corolla but I've always liked the look of those cars. if anything it's an ad for that stupid webpage and not the car.

Are you going to get this if you're not clued in on the vocaloid fandom? No. But if you are, this ad is a win.

This seems kind of like an indirect commercial, sort of like many superbowl commercials. (Explosion, race cars, women, buy coke). This is not good advertising. You're supposed to weave the product into the commercial and convince viewers to buy the product.

So Toyota is spending money to advertise a pure vanilla compact car and putting that money in:

-A fringe element of Japanese internet culture
-An obscure, inexplicable internet meme

I only wish this was broader than whatever Asian-American media channels they're making these ads for so they lost enough money to make it easy to buy up their stock.

The leek/green onion reminded me of the green-onion aliens from Gantz.

All the otaku figures stuff in the room....so this is a Japanese commercial not US - correct?

Someday, someone will be able to explain to me why the concept of Hatsune Miku is so popular. Someday.

Erm Miku herself is a "product" as well. Wink I just hope that she doesn't look like that for her concert, or Crypton and Toyota are going to regret it. For all the money that was allegedly put in to create that design, I still think I've seen way better models made in a fan's bedroom on their PSP. Rolling Eyes
