In the Direct, they actually did say it would be arriving later this year. Not much to go on, but we do know it'll be a 2015 release.

Yay and boo.
Glad we're getting another fatal frame game but I was really hoping for the 4th one and on a playstation system. Well I guess it's better than the Wii since I always hated that FPSish control system with the Wii mote. The wii u pad should be so irritating. |

http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/22/report-nintendo-now-co-owns-fatal-frame-ip/ They invested in it because they wanted an exclusive horror series for their platforms. |

Very excited, I have both Wii Fatal Frame games imported and am playing the Crimson Butterfly remake with my sister right now. It's been amazing fun (and terror) for the two of us playing past midnight & in the dark.
The Direct video showed the Wii pad being used as a camera screen - am very happy they went that route since the PS2 controls never felt right and the Wiimote (while functional) still has some hiccups. Will be a day one purchase so long as there is no censoring funny-business, otherwise I'll wait for a sale~ |

Fatal Frame and Bayonetta
They were multi-platform before You can sell more copies as a multi-platform. I'm not sure if Nintendo will move a lot of consoles by buying out these two IPs.. i don't see the potential buyers on the nintendo systems. I think there are more potential buyers on Xbox and Playstation systems.. Personally, I don't like it when multi-platform games turned into exclusive games. |

I was so excited when I heard this! Though I wish it was the 4th game or the FF2 remake. I don't have a Wii U, but I think I'll still buy this to support.

Man this is awesome news. Though like others I wish the Wii one was released too. Maybe they could do a remaster for the Wii u? Or make a download version of it.

... Imagine a grown man breaking down in tears and in fetal position. That's how I feel right now, with the exception of spirt camera I really really didn't like Fatal frame by Nintendo. Their graphics are usually not as good as Sony's but hopefully the Wii U will look better. |

That information is incorrect. Nintendo partly owns the games they've funded (Fatal Frame 4, the Wii Remake of 2 and this game) and they fully own Spirit Camera, but they don't co-own the IP. That is still Koei Temco's property, which is why the first three games can be purchased on PSN. |

I was afraid we wouldn't get this game, but I'm glad we are.
