To me that sounds like a corporate "touch-up" to relax the shareholders and investors, rather than the fans and the general public, until the game launches. Afterwards they, Konami and Kojima Production/Kojima Hideo will probably officially part ways.

Quite possibly. I doubt if Konami is terribly inclined to say something along the lines of "The series creator is leaving before the game is done."

Whatever the case is. Quoting Kojima, even if there are more, this certainly is the last MG ever. Whatever comes after are poor attempts to replicate a legend.

There's no point in erasing a creator's name in games present and past unless a company hates the guy. (Sid Meier's name is still on past Civilizations he's worked on, even after he left.)

On one hand, I want to believe Konami and trust that they'll allow Kojima to continue creating games using their funds.
On the other hand, I've played Yu-Gi-Oh!: TCG and Silent Hill games long enough to know that you should never trust Konami.

I also have to agree on this, I'm upset about Konami removing Kojima's name. There's no reason for a creator's name to be remove from their work unless they want it removed.

This article creates the impression for me that the Konami guys at the top are getting tired of Hideo Kojima and his crew surfing the Internet and talking on the phone, though I'm sure this can't be the main source of resentment. I'd bet that browsing around, though, is part of why the Metal Gear Solid can be so well-informed on a wide variety of subjects--they're probably doing research. And probably screwing around too. Metal Gear games are very popular though, and Hideo Kojima's a well-respected name.

The PR in the article is completely BS.
It's a lie to distract you from the fact that the media-blocking is to prevent the truth from getting out.
As someone who follows Kojima and co. their social media has never been a problem before, there is no excess of it now compared to before, and much of it was marketing for the game anyway.
Restrictions on such activity happen because some internal trouble went down and it's a heavy handed attempt to lock everything up and prevent word from getting out that would cause negativity.
This is why Konami is also restricting Kojima and certain staff from even promoting the game at upcoming trade shows like E3 and TGS.
The reason provided that it's to help them 'concentrate on finishing the game' is pure unadulterated B.S.
Edit: Update
I must correct myself. At the end point of MGS2's production, there was a media blackout instituted by Kojima.
