Wow, this sounds amazing for an idea about the films. The premise seems neat too.

I hope that if it succeeds and gain enough popularity, it can get a TV series adaptation.

I like how he says "yeah, we could make like 4 or 5 seasons but 6 50-minutes movies works, too."
And looking at the kickstarter page I'm not sure I quite understand, are they only making the first 5 minutes of the first movie with those $75k? Or is it like "if we reach $75k we'll give you the first 5 minutes right away and the rest comes later"?
Guess they are just throwing it out there and hope someone with money decides to invest on the project.

I dig the concept art, but there's no use getting attached to that when finished projects never look that good. Maybe Shinkai could pull it off if that's all a projected assigned for him.

This is why I would be hesitant to back such projects. That is, even if they made well past their goal (like their $82,127 goal had totaled $500,000) and all the payments and pledge packages are met, it's the waiting time that is potentially the biggest set-back. I would think that if they made $1 million on project, that doesn't necessarily speed up the delivery date.

A 50 minute movie series for $80,000? Are...the movies 30 seconds long? Because If I know my economics correctly, it would cost a quarter million just for 30 or so minutes of animation.
