Even Aniplex getting in the Broadcast dubbing. Hopefully this becomes a bigger trend as I've so far been a big fan of Funi's job with both Tokyo Ghoul and Death Parade.

This article fails to mention that Kirk Thornton is also directing the dub.

Aw yeah.
Hopefully, Mikado's VA has gotten better since then. Didn't like him much in S1.
Also, I don't care for the fact that they changed Mairu and Kururi's VAs. From what little screentime they had in S1, they sounded really good.

Wow, you were really fast to catch that! Thanks for the heads up, I'm adding it in now.

If his performance from season 1 of Magi was anything to go by, probably not.
Darrel Guilbeau just really is not a good actor.

That's pretty cool. I guess I have some extra motivation to finish watching the dub of the first season. I still have to decide on whether I want to watch the 2nd season subbed or dubbed first.

This is so obviously being done in response to Funimation's broadcast dub but I actually think that's a good thing. It makes me happy when competition forces the other companies to pick up their game. Now if only Sentai could learn a thing or two from the efficiency of their competitors.
Oh, whatever. I don't care about all that stuff. the main thing I'm happy about is that DURARARA X2 IS GETTING A DUB AND IT'S COMING IN ONLY A FEW DAYS.
I switched to the sub after watching Season 1 dubbed and I can't really complain because the Japanese cast is one of the best I've ever seen in an anime series. But as good as Daisuke Ono is, no Japanese voice actor can best Crispin Freeman. Not to mention Yuuichi Nakamura's performance as Dota-Chin is decidedly more generic than Steve Blum's. Ironically, I had the exact same gripe with Nakamura's performance as Gray Fullbuster when I switched to watching Fairy Tail in Japanese.
I'm rambling but the point is that I am very, very excited for this dub because I really liked the Season 1 dub.

very interesting. A bit disappointed that they recast Izaya's sisters and Shizuo's brother, but their new actors are veterans so they should be able to do the roles in their sleep. Now I wanna know who they're getting to voice Vorona.

Happy to hear they are doing this. Will try to watch this when I can as well. Happy to see broadcast dubs are becoming somewhat of a thing, so I wish for more success for them.

Why blindly follow the pack on something that may not ultimately bring the results that really matter: physical sale increases. It took them a while before they dipped their toes into the CE/LE market and they should take their time before jumping into the "broadcast dub" trend.
it's a small world, the western anime industry, friends hang out and share.

I thought it would be very unlikely that Aniplex USA would be able and willing to do broadcast dubs. I will finish the current cour subtitled, but I am considering watching the other two cours dubbed if AoA simuldubs them. I enjoyed the dub from the first season a lot.
