Well the premise sounds kinda interesting for this. And given the studio, I'm expecting some high production quality to come

First time hearing about this film, but it certainly seems interesting. And being a Production I.G title i'm sure the visuals will be top notch.

This part caught my interest, i'm wondering if it extends to disc sales and not just ticket sales... Here's to hoping that the JP BDs come with English subs!

DItto. I like the premise and I would happily import for some of I.G.'s impressivel visuals.

Sadly, this story is all too familiar in the annals of art history. Many of the assistants in medieval/renaissance studios were (often very talented) women, but the understanding was that they would do the boring drudge work before the 'Master' would come along, put on the finishing touches, and then add his signature.
Precious few women managed to break out into the light. Artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, Sofonisba Anguissola and Lavinia Fontana were successful only by dint of attracting powerful royal patronage, of being independently wealthy - and by having to be ten times as talented as their male counterparts just to be regarded as equals!
Miraculously, the first group of British Royal Academicians contained two women, Angelica Kauffmann and Mary Moser, but it was not until well into the 20th century that Laura Knight became the next woman to be elected.
Edouard Manet's sister-in-law, Berthe Morisot, was one of the original group of Impressionists (alongside the American Mary Cassatt), and for a short while outsold her male companions in both quantity and price - until the world at large realised she was a woman, and sales dropped off!
The presence of female artists in a male art world has always been a fascinating area of study for me, and I do hope this film will make it, in an accessible version, as far as the UK in the not too distant future. (Plus the fact that I have been fascinated by the works of Hokusai (and the members of the Utagawa School) for more years than I care to remember..)

This sounds right up my ally. I've been a fan of Hokusai's art for quite some time, so to learn about how it really came about is quite interesting. I'll definitely have to check it out.
Also good look to Anne Watanabe. Hopefully her career can be as successful as her father's.

This sounds incredibly interesting and the staff involved is other worldly and quite legit. Not a hint of otaku influence with this one which is the way I prefer my anime film. Japan has such a rich cultural history with interesting figures, ideas and concepts begging to be explored more by it's animation industry that it's a shame it often feels like it's all too content just to explore one particular fan subculture that just plain does not represent the country and it's people well at all. That's why I treasure projects with aims like Miss Hokusai and always want to try and support them.
