Not surprising given the good sales figures. I bet this will be a 1 cour though.

I actually see it being 2 cour and adapting the whole manga.

I don't think so. It will probably be 2-cours. The story got the announcement in its ending chapter, so there is not problem of catching up, and the story has 62 chapters. Meaning that if 1-cour(12 episodes) each episode would adapt 5 chapters, that would be too fast. with a 2-cour we will have a good pacing, 2.5 chapters per episode.

I can't see them full adapting it in 1 cour with out majorly cutting stuff, but neither can I see a 2 cour thing with out adding at least 3-4 ep of original stuff

EDIT: Then again they could explore Satoshi since his character was the one with the least development and explanation to certain motivations IMO.

Okay well possibly if they stay faithful with the material. I wonder what studio though...

It could be an in-between-y series length like Nisekoi's 20 episodes. Would allow for the whole series to be adapted without being too slow or padded out with filler.

One does not simply announce an anime adaption at the end of a manga without fully adapting it.

Huh. I guess the story really was rounding out and ending, but I'm just so used to manga just going non-stop that I'm quite surprised. Looking forward.

Interested in seeing how they animate the whole X on peoples' faces thing, though.

I'm hoping for two cours, but I can see how they could cut out some material to fit it into thirteen episodes, especially all the flashbacks in the latter part of the series.

Honestly wasn't expecting this since I was wondering how it was gonna be pulled off, but I'm happy it's confirmed. The manga is really good and I can't wait to see how it ends.

Definitely deserves an anime. I was already glad Kodansha USA was bringing it over; I hope a good director and writer are put in charge since the story matters more to me than how it looks.

I figured this was happen. I'm only like 80% into it and I'm honestly glad it ended when it did. It seemed to be running out of places to go and a smart author knows when to end a story. Can't wait to see it animated.

She announced it was going to end like more than two months ago. She's doing it rather really well for her first major manga release.
