Hope true ending doesn't equal end of Franchise.

I was hoping for a second season with the Comet Empire, not quick movie. :/

This isn't an alternate or true ending. This movie covers the part of the return journey in the period between episodes 24 and 25 (Yuria Misaki mentions in the opening of Episode 25 that two months have passed since they left Iscandar). It's still the one continuity.

If anything, this would be a precursor to a remake of Yamato 2/Comet Empire. Not that there's anything announced yet, but this would certainly establish a more in-depth backstory for any war between Earth and Gatlantis.
