Apple or MS should buy Nintendo.

Yeah, I heard about this few days ago, that's unfortunate.

I doubt that, and that'll never happen.

Nintendo is a big company with no end of popular game properties. They have a successful handheld hardware business and a home console business that is, to be charitable, struggling.

Now, if one of the major American internet businesses thought outside of the box, and they do that sort of thing very well, then you might see MS, Apple, Google or maybe Amazon invest in Nintendo. Possibly a large enough cash infusion to permit a re-engineering or orderly wind-down of the home console business.

As it is the WII U's failure to thrive is dragging an otherwise healthy Nintendo down.

Full Disclosure : We were fairly early adopters of the WII U. My gaming fan sons like the console, but it sees far far more use as a web browsing interface than it does as a game console.

whoop-dee-doo. I notice people never get into a tizzy whenever Sony or MS lays off thousands (heck, I think laid off TENS of thousands).

A reason for this might be because layoffs have become common place for some companies in recent years.

Sure people do. Just when it pertains to the video game-related personnel.
