Now we wait and see whether KyoAni will work on it or not. I really hope they do come back.

Wow. I thought the anime industry was getting over the Aya "scandal" crap. But nope, they hate her. I bet they even get a new VA for Haruhi in whatever scenes she's in, or have her have little or no role.

I'm really hoping its KyoAni as well. Because I don't know if another studio could really handle the property correctly.

Still, it does seem forever away...

Yep. Wait it out and hope for the best. If it can be anything like the Yuki and Kyon scenes in the film I'll be incredibly happy.

What on earth are you talking about!!!! The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan being animated has nothing to do with Aya. Also Haruhi does turn up in the manga but she is only a secondary character. Anyway, Aya's problems are mostly self made!

I wasn't terribly keen on The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but I thought that Yuki was the best of the main cast, so from my position of ignorance, this might be worth my time. She was cool, impressive and treated respectfully by the narrative. I saw her as being close to the antithesis of Mikuru, who I thought was one of the worst characters ever, which makes it immediately more appealing than almost any other possible spin-off.

You may want to look into this version of Yuki. She's not that similar to the one we all saw in Melancholy.

I love the Yuki manga! This will be the first time that I'm reading a manga before it gets animated. Hopefully, I don't turn into one of those people that complains about how they decide to adapt the story. Laughing

I will say, I hope they keep the subtle references to the main series in this adaption. There are some nice little nods run through parts of the Yuki manga.

This anime and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches seeing print are the 2 reasons I wish I could zip through the remaining months of 2014! Laughing

@SA:

If you haven't seen Disappearance, you're going to be getting something you never expected. But Haruhi herself seems to be the main reason people dislike the main series, so her more secondary role should probably help(personally I feel she gets too much screen time, but she still doesn't make too much of a nuisance of herself).

YES!! I love this manga so much. Heck, I was in love with it ever since I heard about the concept of the manga, Yuki was the best, especially in Disappearance.

This just made my day
