They did stream the entire dub on Neon Alley for a few months a while back, right? If so, you can't really consider this the "1st dub clip" to be streamed.

After seeing that, I can't help but make a Sword Art Online joke (or several). Kirito wishes he could crush Sugou's heart with his mind. Best of luck to him on his quest to resurrect Sachi, though.
Considering who else is in the cast, Blue Exorcist jokes would also be appropriate. |

Not going to lie, I do like Bryce, but I feel like Funi is making him be only the main male protagonist and it's kinda making me sad...

It didn't get canned by any means. It was only supposed to be 10 episodes and it got rather close to where the manga was because the pace moved so quickly. |

Actually, I think it did get cut short. I remember at the time it was said to not be selling well at all in BD/DVD pre-orders and had done poorly on TV, ratings wise. The ending also screams "we got pulled early" - one of the worse "go read the manga" endings I'd seen in several years .
After seeing Blood Lad dubbed on Neon Alley Hulu last month, I could see why the show didn't live up to expectations. It's not a bad show, per se. Brains Base did a good job animating it and the English dub is solid . Unfortunately, the first episode was a huge turn off and had I not made myself keep watching to hear the English dub (this was not a show I'd have picked up to buy to begin with) I'd have never known it pulled itself out of that episodes nose dive in Ep 2 and turned into a fun, if not all that memorable, romp. Toss in that the show very much feels like a above par 2002 Shonen Jump show (think early Bleach) and it's was made in 2013, it was kind of clear why this show didn't do as well as hope for. Basically, it is a weird entry, IMO, in the "read the manga" field of Animes. I'm not sure who the show was aiming for exactly. The show was way to short, for me at least, to begin to be interested in reading the manga, and I would think fans of the manga might not be too interested in it seeing it felt like it only covered very little of the manga other than the early storyline. |

He's supposed to be a geek, he doesn't sound like a geek in English; Maybe it's just the selected clip but he sounds like what's he trying not to be in the rest of the show. So what does he really sound like?
Todd Haberkorn, yeah, that's more what I had in mind. Don't know why that named just popped into my head. Also, that clip is almost 2% of the show. It doesn't sound like a lot because the show isn't a lot either as meaningless fights {many of the "go and fight that guy because fight" variety} take up over 60%. Hydra Bell makes this show almost worth ... something. Almost. Thanks for reminding me of another disappointing anime. |

Anyway, I've already seen some of the dub and it's pretty damn good. Probably one of Papenbrook's best performances. Plus it's nice to hear Xanthe Huynh in a lead role. |
