I'm hoping for an original story tbh or at least parts of it. It's been awhile since I've seen Yamato..

This is an all-new story in the re-imagined Yamato 2199 universe, still within the time period portrayed in the 26-episode series that was completed in Japan last year and is currently being released in the US under the Star Blazers 2199 banner.

Specifically, it is set spoiler[ in the timespan between episodes 24 and 25, which is explicitly stated in Episode 25 as being two months.]
