Well the funimation combo pack....I ordered it on amazon.com and I read there are 2 OVA episodes after the series is over...are they on the dvd or blu ray because I don't have a blu ray player or Playstation 3 at this time....I would again like to know if their on dvd or blu ray or both....

Also how good is this show? I cannot wait until I get into it...Thanks

[EDIT: Changed your thread title to eliminate some redundancy and to correct the spelling of a few words. -TK]

Shiki is pretty awesome as long as you can stand (even moreso if you can appreciate) a slow start to build up the setting/characters/atmosphere. Doubly so if you like shows that focus on moral ambiguity or just want something more akin to traditional vampires after all the crap we've been getting lately.

As far as to your question, I can't imagine FUNi only putting the OVAs on one format or the other, but I haven't yet purchased it so I can't say for sure.

I only watched the Blu-Ray version in my set but the box implies they're on both. They're not added on as extras, they're included in the running order like normal episodes (but with .5 after the episode titles).

It's a great series with great music, you should enjoy it.

Why do you keep making threads like this when all you have to do is search on the site? You keep asking questions that you can easily answer yourself. Can you not do your own homework just a little bit?

To be honest Rukiia showing a picture of a Blu-Ray volume and having the phrase "Contains episodes 13-22 plus episodes 20.5 and 21.5" does not answer fully the question. That could mean that those extra episodes are only available on the BD. Unlikely, but it's not like there hasn't been extra content only available on one particular format in BD/DVD releases before.

If the OVA episodes were going to be released only on one specific format then the product info would say so. Doesn't make sense to not mention it if, for example, the OVA's were on Blu-ray only. Pretty sure they would not leave that kind of info out or else they would have a mob of angry DVD only watchers complaining.

Should also point out that Lil Kiss has been told by Key to stop making these kinds of posts since he/she really can answer these kinds of questions themselves. Also:

Does anyone recommend picking up this show on dvd and blu-ray by funimation? How great or not so great is it without any spoilers?

thanks

From another thread.

Correct. That's the right inference to be made from that information. However, making inferences such as that relies on having a certain amount of experience/knowledge, and it's unlikely that the OP could make such an inference from that information alone.

That said, I fully agree that this did not need its own thread. Posting in the official Shiki discussion thread or in the retail thread where the Shiki sets were solicited would have been fine.

The problem is that the OP doesn't ever try to do their own research. For example they made 3 separate threads asking when the next Monster boxset would come out and been told over and over that there have been no announcements or plans. This poster, to me, just seems flat out lazy.

More than "not doing the research" what bothers me is that they constantly ask questions like "I've just bought this, is it any good" - when this is the sort of question normally asked before buying something. Since you've already bought it you can find out how good it is buy putting it in the player and watching it.

The best person to ask as to what extras or episodes are on what disc is someone who owns it. I remember seeing someone recently saying they'd ordered a copy of this very anime from Amazon so we could ask them to check when it arrives. If only I could remember who that was....

I own the set. The OVA's are on both BD and DVD.

It was a rhetorical question, but thanks.

Maybe rhetorical isn't the right word. I ladled the sarcasm on as thick as I could.

Ok wow, I completely missed the sarcasm. Embarassed I never took you as the type of person to lay down the sarcastic posts since when you answer posts they are usually very professional and informative.
