When I read "hybrid computer-animated and live-action feature", Sonic '06 came to mind. So yeah, how about no.
spoiler[Basically, if it felt odd to see somewhat realistic human characters next to the regular Sonic characters, actual people next to them will be worse.]

If they somehow adapted Sonic Adventure/2, then that could work ok since that took place on Earth. But, you know, they won't so uh. Plus there's the fact that last time Sonic teamed up with humans, we got Chris Thorndyke. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think I could forgive myself for making a joke here.

Eeeh... If the regular Japanese actors are brought in for the Japanese dub, maybe I could get behind it. Junichi Kanemaru, according to some, was not Sonic in the Japanese dub for Wreck-It Ralph. That was just a cameo, so maybe they didn't think to bring him in, but still.

Alternatively, if DeVito is Eggman than I'll Day 1 this bitch.

100% chance of failure, no way it's going to be good especially with hybrid format like that.

Oh no. Just no. Between the Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks I can't take any more of these awful hybrid movies. It also conjures up Sonic 06 with it's pseudo live-action photo-realistic characters or just Sonic X with it's mediocre stories.

As a Sonic fan, I will watch it. I will not judge it until I see it. I am not as biased as others here and I think it could have some great potential, since Sonic is a great role model.
But frap, it needs a great premise and writing to make that happen.
And that is worth more than the concept itself. So please... just this once...? D:

Well,it's going to be fascinating to see how the makers of this movie will pull this off. But,to be honest,I'd love to see do an old-fashioned hybrid live-action/traditional animation thing. I tend to lean towards something like that.

I wish it was just cgi , not the next Alvin or smurfs . But those were Fox. I liked the Harlock movie and am hoping for this to be good

This is just reminding me of how creepy Sonic 06 was. If they want to do one, it should just be all CG. Mixing it with live action is just going to look awkward with those character designs.

You'd think Sega would've learned their lesson on adapting their games into live action movies with the 2 terrible House of the Dead movies.
