I don't know about rocking.
I also don't see the point of this thing anymore. I don't think remote play is actually that fantastic, though maybe with an actual controller it would be. Still, I'm not sure the performance is there.
I guess if there's something on the Vita you want to play, but don't want to buy the system you can get this at a decent price. Though I think the Vita's library is kind of crummy.

I don't get the constant criticism of Vita's library. I have a lot of Vita games and it is probably my favorite gaming platform currently.

Agreed, brah. But you know those people who don't like Japan and don't like it cause there's not enough shooters or whatever. Cause I guess a system with no shooters is worthless to them.

It's the Vita's library consisting mostly of otaku-aimed games; not much wiggle room for the other audiences. Hell, I can't even imagine what their reaction would be if some person who bought that recent Borderlands 2 Vita bundle now realized the library is mostly those types of Japanese games.

The games on Vita for the Western market aren't very appealing. The Vita has it so much better in Japan with all those niche games to the point that you can buy one and just import everything (if you have a JP PSN you have everything necessary including the kitchen sink when it comes to games).

Wait, I'm confused, what is this PSTV thing? Is it like a console that plays PSvita games on the tv? Does it have its own controller? Or is it just a way to connect your psvita/play your vita on a tv? Basically, do you still need a vita to use this?
Anyway, I should probably get a vita. I was just going to get a 3ds but with a lot of interesting vita games finally coming out that I want to try I may have to get one of those as well.

Yep, you play Vita games on your TV along with streaming PS3 games on it via PS Now (once it's available) and playing PS classics you download.

^huh. That actually sounds kinda cool. And 100 bucks? Not bad. Though that leads me to a second question: what's Playstation Now? Is that like a new version of Playstation Plus, or is it a whole other service?

Sony at one point promised they'd find a solution to the fact that making the PS4 backwards compatible was economically impossible. It looks like they meant a streaming game service.

Some of the best games I've played are shooters.
Vanquish, Resident Evil 4, Half Life 2, Bulletstorm, Contra SS and so on. I don't know when shooter became the term for bad game or bro game or whatever you're stupidly trying to imply here.
A FPS is also the last thing I'd want to play on the Vita.
I have a Vita because I like Japanese games. I have for it Metal Gear Solid HD, Final Fantasy X HD, Dead or Alive 5+, Gravity Rush, Persona 4 Golden, Ys Memories of Celeceta, Dragon's Crown, and Muramasa. All good games, but only two of them are not ports. There also is'nt much on the release calendar or not out that seems worthwhile, let a lone an actual exclusive.
Compare this to even the PSP a system that had plenty of exclusives, especially towards the end.
I would really like to know what are these awesome games on the Vita that I'm not aware of. Looking at just the rpg list for the system on Gamestop whats left are MH clones and low budget otaku fair like Conception and Neptunnia. Things that people I trust don't think are good. Are those the awesome games? I don't even want those on the PS3.
So no, the Vita is not a worthless system because it has no shooters(as if shooters are somehow bad) or because I hate Japan. That's dumb. It's not a worthless system at all, it's pretty well made. If anything it's a weak system because many of it's best games are simply ports and original content is few and far between. Even worse if you're not part of a particular audience.

Yes, pretty much.
Since it seems no one is going to make original content for this system, I'd honestly just take some more PS2 ports at this point. Give me Shinobi PS2, The Xenosaga games, Wild Arms 5, I don't know something....

Pretty sure it's also compatible with PSP games - PSP games on your TV

You're absolutely correct, although I never played any PSP games on the Playstation TV I already own.

Actually those games are fairly popular and beloved
I like Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God myself

By who? The sales in Japan put them in a niche area. The reviews from websites I'd trust like RPGfan aren't positive. Where are they fairly popular and beloved? Conception 2 did'nt even sell as well as the first one.
The most popular Vita games in Japan are things like Toukiden and whatnot.
They seem exactly like what they are. Niche otaku games.
But also, I never said they weren't popular and beloved(though I doubt they are). I said people I trust with similar views and tastes aren't into them either.
