Have there been any in-depth discussions about this show? If so, could someone please give me the link(s)? I'm quite befuddled by how it ended. Considering the fact I actually understand NGE, FLCL, Paranoia Agent and RahXephon, that's saying a lot.

You need to read the manga. The anime covers roughly 1/3 of the story, up to volume 8(of 21, I think).

Unlike all those shows it didn't have a conclusive ending. It just stopped in the middle of the story. From what I've heard from the manga, had the series continued it would have gone on to focus on "his circumstances" more, which was what some of the last episode was trying to indicate (i.e. he angsts muchly).
You can find quite a few threads on it using the search function that 1/3rd indicated though; this is a good one.

First, thank you all for answering. Second, I really wish you had not answered. Finding out that I only got a part of the story is worse than not understanding it. I will try to read the manga, but as they are often quite different from their anime counterparts, I don't believe it is going to help me.

It took me a couple of hours to go through all the search results, but it's interesting to see that every month someone else comes along with the same problem. The DVDs should come with a warning label (I'm only half-joking).

I have seen every thing that gainax has ever produced, Execpt His and Her Circumstances. I have been wondering for a while now if it was any good. Only problem being, I can not seem to find the complete collection on any Site, or at any store.

I bought my copy off Amazon. And, a thinpak boxed set was released Sept. 26. It's much cheaper than the version I have. (I wish I would have waited ...)

Huh? I though the thinpak box set, which is what I'm going to get, was not available until November 28. Unless TRSI is lying to me... His and Her Circumstances DVD Thinpak Collection

Hmm, the encyclopedia here shows 9/26 like you said, but I checked deepdiscount and other sites and they all have the release as 11/28. Oh, and good thing I checked, it looks like the pre-order will be cheaper at deepdiscountdvd.

You are correct, sir. My error. When I checked Amazon earlier, I didn't bother to look at the release date, since the encyclopedia said 9/26.

Sorry!

Well, in the case of Kare Kano, the anime is quite faithful to the manga. I don't recall very many differences before the anime....fizzles out towards the end (I'm not sure thats the best way to describe it, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about in terms of the animation).

So if you pick up the manga at volume 7 you should be able to follow what happened just fine.
