All pretty good choices, but I think the glaring omission here has to be Haydee, the young lady traveling with the Count in Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo. The gown she wore to the opera in episode 6(?) is still, to my mind, the most stunning outfit I've ever seen on an anime character. (I'll see if I can get a screen shot of it and link to it later.)

As soon as I saw the title of this week's List I knew Clamp would have to make at least one appearance. I agree that Gankutsuuo's Haydee had incredible outfits too.
The list was fun to read. Thank you!

I thought of Michiko Malandro (Michiko e Hatchin) and Momo Adachi (Peach Girl)
Ah, oh well.

Haydee didn't really stick out to me, fashionwise. On the other hand, the men's list is next week and someone from that show has a high probability of being included

Not surprising. The only question is: will Mephisto Pheles from Black Exorcist, with his absurd fashion sense, make that list?

Judgement of Best Dressed, like beauty, is in the eye of the judge and therefore much too subjective of individual bias, likes, and dislikes. Being over dressed, or under dressed, or plainly dressed, or casually dressed, or dressed in uniform does not necessarily mean "best" IMHO. so on those criteria I can slightly agree on just one character that I would consider nicely, therefore best dressed.

That's what I was thinking too. I can think of a lot of characters who dressed nicely and a lot of characters who's wardrobes I wanted. I can't judge who's the best because they all have different fashion sense. I'm not complaining about the list though! I'm interested in seeing a boys list soon. All I know is one of the guys from Tsubasa RC better be in there because all their outfits were just, mmm, amazing!

Clamp is awesome like that. I personally just finished the Tokyo Babylon manga, and Subaru, despite being a kid, is pretty snazzy dressed. That might be from his sister's influence, though.

I'm probably "overdressed" 70% of the time, just because life is too short, I don't have enough formal functions to go to, and skinny jeans are horribly uncomfortable.

100% agree on Michiko Malandro. I'd also add Panty & Stocking.

Yuko I expected to see on the list, but classy of the list to remember Maetel's Anna-Karenina look (perfect for railroad stations) and Makoto's casual-hip.
Jupiter always seemed like the most sensible one anyway.

It also comes down to what ever occasion one is dressing for too. Even the Royals will not dress in stately formal attire when down on the farm cleaning out the stables, or plushing a hedge, which you might be surprised to know they actually do. They'd blend in with every other farmer at market if those there didn't recognise their faces. Being an engineer I usually dress in utilitarian fashion. I'm not one for formal occasions unless it's absolutely unavoidable like a wedding, or funeral, and then I usually leave what I wear to her indoor's to choose as whatever I will choose will never do. If whatever one clothes, or not clothes one's body, makes one feel good about oneself, then who am I to say whether they are best dressed, or not?

Ragyo-samaa!
Ok, that was just the first thought that came to my mind, but also other characters, which I associate with clothing, do not really belong on this list. For example Yoko from Gurren Lagann, of which I remember a female poster on some site saying that Yoko's best outfit by far was the suit with a tie she had at the wedding in the last episode (the poster was talking about the outfits in the series, but I am not sure if her mind would have changed even if all the outfits in the Pieces of Sweet Stars video were included).
Some people say that Kubo Tite has a good fashion sense, but I am not sure if that can be said about any of his characters.

For the male list, Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler has to make it.
