Dragonar Academy (TV) Genres: action, comedy, fantasy, romance Themes: ecchi, fanservice, harem, school Plot Summary: Ash is a student at Ansalivan Dragon Academy, attended by children who have formed contracts with dragons. He possesses the "star mark," the sign of a contract, but since his partner hasn't been born yet, he seems insignificant. The awakening of the dragon he's raising inside his body is triggered by an incident, and it emerges in the form of a young girl. ---------------------------------- Episode 1: It's what I expected although somewhat better than I had thought. Parts of it reminded me of Familiar of Zero with the fantasy elements at school. There were some bits of fan service in the middle section as well. spoiler[I think we meet the main girl Eco at the end there with As]h. I think Ash has much to learn still and this is just the beginning. Overall, it matched its premise well but I hope it doesn't sidetrack from that soon |

Ugh not even halfway through the episode and we now have yet another stuck up blonde character who will no doubt turn into a tsundere and end up liking the main character. I've always lacked sympathy for characters like that mostly because they don't usually do anything to help their situation. It's one thing if they are rich/royalty and have TRIED to be nice/friendly with people and failed. That's a character i can get behind. But when they are just plain rude an condescending towards people for no reason I i really have no respect for them after a certain point. I'm sure a sob story will come eventually. Now i don't have anything against Blake for wanting to help her out but i find it weird how he was so upset about what she told him and then suddenly wants to come to her aid. I suppose he's one of those self sacrificing kind of guys. Not much you can hate about that kind of character.
Anyways i think this one could possibly interesting. The setup is kind of generic but I'm willing to see where they will go with it. |

The reason he did it was because he realised at the start of the race that she is just like him, kind of like him she was acting out in frustration of her situation. But unlike him she appears to have no one supporting her (friend) except her dragon. Well I am in for loli ninja, and because dragons are cool. Well I don't mind the designs of a heap of the characters. I have a better feeling about this than I should, perhaps how it might work when shows like Unbreakable Machine-Doll and that jousting anime failed. |

Meh I think there is a fine line between taking your frustration out on someone and deliberately trying to upset them. I mean did she really have to be a dick to those girls who were just talking by the door? Couldn't she have just kindly asked them to move? I mean if she was the student council president it would at least kind of make sense for her to be strict about rules but right now she's just a betch.

She is trying to stay focused to show that she is the model..... dragon rider (I guess), and may not realise it is being worse for her cause. The students were blocking door, and some people who don't exactly make friends easily can get quite ticked off when people decide to socialise a whole heap and be in people's way. More so when you are not exactly good at talking people and end up waiting for people to get the hint.
Oh, I am the only one? |

I think she is like this because people are talking behind her back about her and brother. people who are blocking the hallway in this case the door have manners in first place anyway. I'm talking about you cosplayers. Our society always blame the victim. |

^ It doesn't matter if people talk about her from behind her back. That's part of life! It happens all the time whether you realize it or not in school so it's not something to be a dick to people about. Some of my closest friends do the same thing and it never really bothered me. If she actually attempted to be nice to people then i wouldn't mind it. But i'm not going to feel sorry for her if she's just going to a brat about such trivial stuff and say things to deliberately make people hate her.
Soooooooooooo just saying "Excuse me." is a difficult feat?.......... She obviously isn't anti-social enough to not be able to talk to people properly so i don't see that as an excuse. |

this looks ok. I'll need another episode or two to decide. guess things will depend on how much I'll be able to tolerate Ash's dragon

You have any idea how hard it can be for someone so socially anxious. Wait, did you watch Watamote? Although that is just me. |

I'M IN. Erghhhh BALLOON BOOBS. Do they have to!? Do they not realize how very awkward that makes characters look!? Gimme a needle so I can POP THOSE STUPID THINGS. Still....WhiteHairGirls's quote is what this show is. Yes, I'm in. The set-up is good. I like the fairytale-esque intro. I like the lead. I like the characters' faces, especially their eyes. This has to be Zombie Desuka-related, yes? On top of that, DRAGONS.
I'm not liking her that much either. Root for the loli dragon. *looks up seiyuu* .................what? WHAT!? Rie Kugimiya ISN'T going to voice the loli dragon!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? I've....I've had shocks before but this is WAY too much. You sure it's not a typo? |

I'm sorry, but I have very little tolerance for pigeonholed Rie Kugimiya. I like her a lot better when she's allowed to voice something that's a not a tsundere. Like Happy Last edited by getchman on Tue Apr 08, 2014 6:54 pm; edited 1 time in total |
