Meh, I prefer the original. Cel animation at its finest, not that this is bad in any way. He actually did a really good job.

Nicely done. Almost perfect! I'd love to watch CCS again with these effects.

I rather enjoyed it. Then again, I have a 3DTV.

I would love to watch this "remake" in the 3D effect. Smile

Hint: look at the two white dots above the side-by-side videos, and cross your eyes until a third one appears in the middle; slowly refocus your eyes on the video below, and it will appear in 3D.

Not seeing any white dots? oh well

You have to click Options beside the 3D switch, and select No glasses.

Very nicely done! It looks a little strange to me in the first video, but it's better in the second one. I hope they do the other two openings as well Very Happy

There is a lot more detail in the original.

Cardcaptor was so pretty and this redo was a rather nice treat Smile

Sakura still looked better in the original probably because that's what I'm used to with her ;p

Looks like a PS3 game. That'd be cool to get one.

Also why does a fan animation look better than most of the paid-for CG toons on TV?

Don't "cross your eyes", they'll stick like that! Mad

Just do what the rest of us do--
Look up the YouTube video on a smart-enabled 3DTV, turn on the Side-By-Side conversion, and watch it with glasses on. Cool

(And testament that Sakura can still gain loyalty with longtime fans as a true magical girl, and not some fanservice deconstruction.)

an ambitious effort, but there's a certain level of expressiveness that 3D just can't ever hope to capture. It's especially noticeable in the side by side, Sakura evokes so much more emotion in the original and kind of looks dead eyed in the 3D version. It didn't look half bad though if not a bit sterile.

Yeah sure, nothing beats the original but this was absolutely sensational to watch. Spot on recreation.

Agreed. Watching it in 3D really made it pop, especially with the sakura petals falling across the screen.
