HEMINGWAY PAPERS!
I love that TV special! You get some of Yamada's best work in that. And Goemon vs Jigen!
I hope Reed Nelson does a commentary. But either way, I'm getting it.

Then I think you will be pleased with this release and its extras, if all goes according to plan!

Wow didn't expected another license on another Lupin title so soon. But I ain't complaining cause Hemingway Papers is among my personal favorite 90's Lupin TV specials. Looks like I'll be purchasing this TV special along with the 1989 TV special that's coming real soon.

More Lupin III is always good!
(And I really have to crack down and get more of the DiscoTek releases. So far, I only have their Fuma Conspiracy DVD and I desperately want to get all their other Lupin releases including the live-action movie AND Project A-ko! I'm still planning on possibly getting the original Cutey Honey in spite of the negative reviews. I was impressed enough by the subbed version I saw on YouTube before that got pulled...)
I am wondering what the Lupin Blu ray release is going to be...
I recently saw Legend of Babylon/City of Gold so I know it's NOT that film! It's a weird-looking film... It looks like it could have been animated by Bruno Bozzetto or Guido Manuli. It's so unanime-like as far as what I think of as general Japanese general character design. Yeah, it really looks more European/Italian than Japanese. The animation is fine, though, and it's still better than what I saw of the Lupin III Part 3 TV series...
My dibs on the Blu ray possibly being a re-release of Castle of Cagliostro.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Cagliostro re-release with the Streamline Pictures dub included... I have the two Manga US R1 DVD releases so a Blu ray is a no-brainer for me; the film's definitely worth it.
I only saw the entirety of Cagliostro a few weeks ago. I know it's Miyazaki but it's still such a weird fusion of his style and the "Lupin vibe." For goodness' sake, the Princess and Fujiko in that film looked like refugees from Nausicaa!
Gotta be one of the better Lupin films or one of the ones that's already been remastered in HD for Blu ray...

GeorgeC: If you want more Lupin in the Babylon style, then TMS uploaded most of the third series on Hulu. It's the same team.

Chances are that the unknown Lupin Blu-ray from Discotek will either be Cagliostro or any of the Lupin III TV specials from 2001 to onwards excluding Episode 0: first Contact cause they already released that one a while back. Gold of Babylon, Return of Pycal, & the 1991 & 1992 TV specials would be unlikely cause it be a bit risky to release those titles on Blu-ray as oppose to DVD. I am curious what the title will be once it's announced, more Lupin licensed in the US is always a welcome.

DearS is an odd choice. Discotek seems pretty random with their licenses.

Tony: If DT can afford it, and the demand is there, then sure.

Nice to see it's a Lupin title that's somewhat a unexpected release.

Could just be they got the license for cheap.
Although I'm glad they are getting it, so I can get the complete series for a reasonable price(only have Geneon's Vol. 1 DVD). Because the 1st vol. is somewhat reasonable($5 or under), but the other 3 volumes' prices are all over the place(ranging from $20-$70 used).

Yeeees, Hemingway Papers! One of my favorite specials! Can't wait to pick it up along with Bye Bye Liberty Crisis.

I don't want to build my expectations up too much, but given that Discotek/Eastern Star tends to have a pretty high barrier for blu-ray, I'm think Cagliostro is the only thing that has a chance of finding a big enough audience.

Discotek is an appropriate licencor for the "Lupin" franchise, as they keep finding new ways to take money directly out of my wallet and put it snugly into their's. I'll probably buy all of these.
