I had the misfortune of seeing the Midori anime a few weeks ago. This sucker's definitely sick.

Awesome! Great recommendation. Panorama Island is in my top 10 manga releases for the year.
Now if only I could own Laughing Vampire by Suehiro Maruo..

The Strange Tale of Panorama Island novel is also available in English also having come out earlier this year.

I'm so pleased that several of Rampo's works have come into English editions over the past several years. Great stuff and often referenced in anime and manga.

I miss that crude and sloppy and in-your-face weird.

Anyway, I'll have to give these both a read, especially since this is the second time in recent memory I've heard folks talk about 'em.

I have a book showcasing different manga artists and Suehiro is one of the ones interviewed. His art is as impressive as it is disturbing.
