The animeanime.jp website postulated that the film is within range of surpassing the K-ON! film's final box office total of about 1.9 billion yen.

Is that counting inflation of ticket prices and such? These kind of things always end up being fake here in America because even in a short period of time ticket prices can go up 2-3 dollars (2011-2013 this happened where I live)

K-ON! sold 237,800 tickets for 316,310,000 yen in its opening weekend in 2011. That means an average ticket price was about 1330 yen.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- sold 1,005,092 tickets for 1,391,457,150 yen in 21 days. That averages out to about 1384 yen.

Not the movie theaters...

That being said prices haven't risen except on 3-D films which Madoka isn't.
