too bad ga-rei was amazing because it was barely based on the manga with no input from teh original author, unless we get tokyo-esp zero I have low expectations for this one.

The plot description doesn't sound very good at all, but good execution can make up for it. Here's to hoping.

The manga itself is nothing special, but the fact that it's an action-and-totally-no-ecchi manga aimed to boys with a female as protagonist (= completely different characterization, no harem!) should at least ring a bell... in a good way
(like, leave Coppelion out of the topic )
As a reader of this manga I may suggest you all to give it a try, but not in a "kyaa! I know this one! high expectations! must watch!" way, just so you know.

The science fantasy story begins with Rinka, an extremely poor high school girl who lives with just her father in modern Tokyo. |
Everybody knows no girl pretty enough can ever become truly poor.

I LOVE the Tokyo ESP manga. It's essentially the Japanese X-Men. The leads are Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler, with her Wolverine/Magneto dad, etc. It's a lot of fun, especially with the absurd "celebrity" cameos.
