You've got some borderline copy/paste Yu-Gi-Oh! designs right there.

Glad to see Rove McManus involved. Although for an 'Aussie High School' it looks very American.

So it's the opposite version of Kappa Mikey. Good grief.

Looks interesting stupid/silly but interesting. Honestly though, I'm all for a show that shows how silly/ridiculous anime can be even when compared to regular toons.
Remember people, if you can't laugh at the things you like, you have a pretty poor sense of humor.
I say let the bashing of anime cliches/tropes as seen through the eyes of an Australian commence!

Yes, because lowest common denominator humor with zero effort put in is always the pinnacle of comedy. If it's not funny, it's not entertaining, and just turns into a painful dull experience, like a Friedberg and Seltzer movie. I can laugh at self-deprecation of anime plenty well, but not just because it's that, it also needs to still be humorous in a way that grasps beyond the superficial "lol anime characters have spiky hair, isn't that hilarious?!" This kind of stuff is just groan worthy.

I think judging the entire product by the trailer is pretty weak. I do agree it probably won't be anything special. But the series itself might turn out better then the trailer/movie. Just have to wait and see. I'll be cautiously awaiting the show to see how it pans out.

Looks like another throwaway series, properly parodying card shows in the past. It should be amusing, but i don't think its going have a lasting effect on scifi or cartoon culture.

It actually looks pretty funny. If it's successful enough, I hope they'll air it here for us Americans...

Let's see if it has better fun with anime than South Park.

But it won't even be parodying anime tropes as they actually exist today. It'll be spoofing a tiny niche of anime tropes that only exist in game shounen.
I'm reminded of seeing a bunch of guys a few months ago on another forum mock anime tropes, and they were ALL several years dated. All attempts to riff on anime are always hilariously dated. As walw6pK4Alo said, it's all just "superficial lol anime characters have spiky hair, isn't that hilarious?!'"
