You're the one who's seen it, you tell us! Smile
If you've never heard the Japanese dub then you're in the ideal position to give an unbiased opinion of the English dub.

Definitely. If you think it's good enough, and that you'd enjoy watching the whole series with the voices that you heard, then there's absolutely no problem with that. If you don't think you'd like them throughout the whole series, then just wait for the DVDs to come out and watch the Japanese tracks with English subtitles on them.

As for it "not having as much information", this series is being handled very professionally, so you can expect almost everything from the Japanese version being in the English dub.

I have never watched the subbed version, [Insert moralist-elitist comment here] so I think I'll contribute my relatively unbiased opinion after watching it on Sunday.

It's fair to expect a high quality dub, though, considering all the hype it's been getting (and all the buzz, for the technical folks).

In a way, though, I don't really feel like watching it. I don't know if I could stomach another Naruto, with its frustratingly slow pace that makes you want to smack the characters down twice a minute to get them going already.

Bleach's got some good reputation, however, and I used to read the manga religiously, and liking it very much, long before it was even a hit. So I'm having high hopes with it.

Who would you rather trust, your "friend" who might just be making stuff up, or a bunch of strangers in the Internet with well-informed opinions?

That is NOT what you are going to say when you're in the middle of the first season. Like everyone says, the first 15 eps or so suffer from monster-of-the-week syndrome. But once this [plot twist] happens, just when it's introducted, the series gets rolling, and I mean, Steamrollin' !

Eps.18-62 are like, really good and quick-paced. Then there's some filler. But still, Bleach develops a better story, and deeper characters than Naruto, in only 62 eps compared to, what, 140?

Neither. Watch both if only to see what's edited out and to compare translations. I see a lot of blood being edited out everyone in bleach is pretty much a water hose about to burst.

I'd say get it from the experts, but if he really wants to know, he's got to go for it. Make mistakes! Take the shot! If you miss it, you'll have to find a way to get it back.

What's that from? I wanna' say Hoosiers, or maybe even Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, but I just can't put my finger on that quote.

I think your right, I think that is from Hoosiers

But anyway why not check it out? It's not gonna hurt to watch a few episodes if your a little interested. I watched it after hering about it from a friend and while I wasn't that interested when it first started I got into it after a while.
