Rumbling Hearts (Kimi ga Nozomu Eien) was aimed at males. It was based on a hentai game.

That's nothing though, try watching stuff like Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat or Bottle Fairy and I'm sure you'll feel even stranger watching it and being a guy. Fyi, Bottle Fairy was actually aimed at adult males. Smile

Romance in your TV: pop in a DVD

Romance in your life: Dance, bla bla, Pay a beer, Pay a drink. Gifts. Move around. Play around. Talk, Talk, give rides in your car, go to the restaurant, stuff, stuff, time, money, time, money, headaches, lovesickness, insatisfaction.

or just because it's well done and you relate to the characters.

It can't be explained. Meh, if it's good, then it just is good. I have only heard good things about Kimiga Nozomu Eien, I'd have to check it out.

I'm not sure if this falls in this category but here goes. I just got off of work, I work the overnight shift, and while I usually don't get to watch tv at work(so sad) it was a slow day so I was like, "cool, adult swim." Now I rarely watch anime on tv but I like to check it out occasionally when I have nothing else to do. So I looked into a program guide and it read: Fullmetal Alchemist, Neon Genesis, Trigun. I don't like Eva much but I was looking forward to the other two. So I tune in and I see an AS commercial immediately that says: New Line up Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Big O and the other usual non-anime stuff.

So now I am dissapointed but I said "what the hell, it is still better than pretending to work." So I start watching Inuyasha; I actually like this show, I've seen a great deal of it before, it always just annoyed me that near the end it seemed nothing ever moved forward, but an occasional episode like today is entertaining, so I sat through it and had a few laughs.

Then I get ready to watch Fullmetal Alchemist and instead s-CRY-ed comes on. Now I was a little more than miffed, but I sat there and watched it. And of course half way through it came that question, "Why the hell am I watching this?" And I changed the channel.

Ok, so that was my 'Why the hell am I watching this?' moment from today.

3 words: Puni Puni Poemy. This anime will make your brains melt out your ears, it is so dumb. I used to think the same thing about bobobo but it strangely grew on me... because I have a very weird sense of humor.

And as far as romance goes, I personally say screw it, girls ain't worth the headache. But that's just me. Very Happy *puts in fruit basket*

Fushigi Yugi. Definitely. I don't own any of the DVDs, but they have a weird train-wreck effect on me when a friend brings over theirs. "Gawd, Miaka is stupid. Why are these guys falling for her, anyway? No, don't go that way you idiots, it's a trap! Geez... oh now Tamahome's getting all mushy. This show is so stupid. *credits roll*... so you brought the next volume, right? Great, put it in!"

Every time. Wink

I forced myself to watch all 14 episodes of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, and every episode after the second, I had to ask my self why the hell am I watching this? Any my answer is: "It's ranked 1st on the Animenfo top 200, and it's got to be somewhat good....."

Now I know why it isn't even on the ANN top 50.

I've also found out that I have absolutely zero tolerance for girls fighting over a worthless indecisive guy.

I find clumsyness and, to some extent, stupidity to be a turn on. Probably has more to do with being naive and innocent as being cute.

Depends. Rumbling Hearts is one of my favorite anime, but I've heard it plays out similarly to a soap opera (don't watch soap operas). It's very melodramatic and its characters are somewhat stupid. Imo, it's the most realistic anime I've seen. The situations and and the way the characters act are just seem so real and believable to me.

I think even people who have seen it and dislike it can say that it is much different than other romance anime so you may want to see some of it just because of that.

I asked myself that very question when I was watching episodes 1 - 9 of Elfen Lied. After episode 9, I was so pissed off that I had already invested so much time in the series that I made myself finish it just on principle. I guess it was because I saw it on so many top ten lists here, so I kept thinking, "Okay, maybe this is the episode where it gets good." But it never happened. Now I want those seven hours of my life back...

I wouldn't exactly call Miaka innocent, and her naivety comes more across in the idea that it's perfectly okay to walk into the enemy capital alone than in being charmingly ignorant of stuff. Gawd she's such an annoying blockhead. Why the heck did I even bother watching as far as I did?

An overwhelming majority likes Rumbling Hearts so it's a fairly safe bet. However, if like me you start feeling it's contrived then it's just one long series of frustrations. It does manage to evoke the feeling of live-action television drama series, which is rare. But then that's not necessarily a good thing, as I've seen much better live-action dramas. Finally, please note that the art in Rumbling Hearts is nothing special. Those who sing its praises usually forget to mention that their superlatives only covers the story, not the animation and music. It was a rather jarring discovery right off the bat, and no doubt had some influence on my overall view of the show.

It was amazing for me. Really sad, but yeah amazing. You'll like it if you have any respect for REAL romance. The most realistic anime I've ever seen.

Haha. I just had that moment today when I started watching the show for the first time, after reading a particular review that made it sound..erm.. interesting. And I went to see it.. and for the ever evolving love of Darwin, that show is messed.

It's mushy and cute one moment, deranged the next with the heroine (of whom has to be *on* heroine here) falls flat on her face and acts like an idiot in every situation, then acts heroic for a moment, then goes back to mushy... XD..

She also screams do much during the entire series.. The English Dub of it is particularly horrid. Not to mention they pratically scream/say this during every episode:

"MIeka!" "Tamahome!"

So I ended up laughing (in a sad way) and thinking "This is so stupid, why the heck am I watching this?!

"MIIIEKKA!" "TAMAHOMMME!" Sorry, I couldn't resist. *shot* XD...
