I just bought my favorite anime Yu Yu Hakusho on a conveniant 14 ep. box set. (First Battles) Its freakin awesome and i just wanna know when theyre gonna make more dvds like that continuing from First Battles.

The second set comes out September 19. It will go through half of the first match in the Dark Tournament.

Judging between the gap from First Battles and the September 19th one, it will be coming out 3 times a year.

I've been looking for this 14 episode release, but haven't seen it at my local Best Buy or Suncoast. I guess I haveto resort to internet, but I sure hate giving my credit card number online. |

Actually, that would come out to 4 times a year. From now (First Battles came out about a week ago) to September 19th is about three months. |

I already have all the season Box Sets. Spirit Detectvie, Dark Tournament I, Dark Tournament II, Chapter Black Saga, and Saga of the Three Kings. All of YYH on 5 Box Sets
Though each is no doubt more expensive than this 14 episode stuff. What floats your boat? More box sets with fewer episodes each Fewer box sets with more episodes each |

Or even fewer DVDs with more episodes. That is the one thing that really irritates me about Viz and Inu Yasha. IY is a 160+ episode series, yet Viz only releases 3 episodes per DVD and still charges the same as a 4 or 5 episode release. Then again, I'm buying the darn things, so....

At some panel, in some place (vague, aren't I?) I recall reading that Inu Yasha's 3-ep-per-disc treatment was a nessecity as far as the Japanese licensors were concerned. |

Really? Huh...oh well. Like I said I'm still buying the things and the last DVD that I just got ended with episode 129 so it's not that far behind Cartoon Network. So if my math is correct there's only 11 or 12 DVDs left so the last DVD should be out mid-2007. As for the Japanese licensors, hey, it gets them AND Viz more money!

Keep in mind that these new sets will take up significantly less shelf space. The entire series of these new sets will take up the same amound of space as one of the "old" box sets. I believe YYH is 112 episodes long, am I correct? 8 (sets) x 14 (episodes) = 112 episodes And I believe each "old" box set is 7-8 volumes big. So I'll take more sets with 1/5 the shelf space. |
