Nearly every game website covered this. It's a free gift to those who buy the PS2 King of Fighters 2006 which is a 3D KOF game.
I wonder when animenewsnetwork will get around to covering all the Wii anime games such as One Piece Unlimited Adventure which Shonen Jump recently covered. It has original character designs.
Or the Wii version of Dragonball Sparkling Neo 2 which uses the wii controller to mimic the characters moves.
Sigh I wonder if when the english version of Jump Superstars comes out Animenewsnetwork would even mention it. It has nearly every Shonen Jump character in it from Bo-Bobo to Yugioh to Naruato. May not happen though since the character franchises belong to different companies.

The Wii One Piece game hasn't been confirmed for N. American release. Anyway, I don't see the point in making the anime a game exclusive. It means no one who's not familiar with KOF is likely to buy it.

Considering how the first KOF anime movie was regarded they may have figured the new anime series would have tanked if released seperatly from the game.
Also in America not a lot of people know about the animes based on games or vice versa even if these people own one or the other.
I wish NA licensing was a lot more simpler. Would make a lot of awesome Japanese stuff come over.
I mean a game that has playable characters from Prince of Tennis fighting with playable characters from One Piece?
Jump Superstars is like the dream come to life of many crazy fantasy fist fights that otaku fans have. It would sell pretty well over here.

You're sounding kinda whiney by the way.
And the chances of Jump Superstars coming out here is quite ridiculiously low.
And on the KOF Anime, I'm not sure it's a very great extra, considering the whole thing was officially free to watch online. Then again, it probably would serve decent archival purposes.

Well I am expressing my feelings on licensicing issues which ruin a lot of cool stuff we should get.
The kof anime you are talking about wasn't in English nor can most people find legal high quality translated into english by dub or sub outside of dvds.

Kind of neat, but considering that 4 episodes included are about 7 minutes in length and barely really accomplish anything it's more of a giant tease than anything else.

Pretty neat, though I fear they'll have the same awful KOF MI voice cast dub the KOF anime, too. As long as the Japanese dub is there too, I'm all for it. Though I still think "KOF 2006" is a stupid name for KOF Maximum Impact 2. It's not like we didn't get the first MI, and there was no 2004 or 2005, so what the heck, SNK Playmore USA? X_X

This was the first KOF anime series. You may be thinking of the Fatal Fury OAVs and movie.

Or maybe toomanyalts is referring to Art of Fighting.
I just wish they have a selection for the original Japanese voices in the game and that it's a huge improvement from the first Maximum Impact. The voices were horrible, as they are for just about any translated fighting game. I was heart-broken when I hear Kyo's victory speech. In Japanese, it sounded something like "Oreno-Kash-Ta", only to be translated into a lazy voice actor who says "I am the champion".... . The game was really unbalanced as well and the control felt really off, even though I consider the PS2 controller best for Fighting Games.
As for the movies being "bundled", I hope it's like an extra in the game itself and not one of those extra discs you get for pre-ordering the game at certain stores. I don't plan to buy this game unless it gets a really good review, or the price drops to $20, but I still hope that anime is included when I wait for it to go to $20 since I doubt it will be worth my $50 at release and it also doesn't help that I don't like 3D fighters.

ZOMG! First post!
I've been lurking for a while now, guess I found my reason to register.
Anyway, you'll be glad to know this game FAR FAAAAR exceeds the original MI. The official US press release said there'd be an option to switch voices and SNK's pretty good about listening to complaints (the blood in the KoF 2-packs)
Anyway, back to the game, I'm loving it. It's such a great "fan game" and by that I mean, it probably won't be critically acclaimed, but there's so much for SNK fans here. Characters have 16 costumes to choose from, the stages are great. There's some GREAT music (they even put in over 35 classic tracks and themes from various SNK game ranging from 96's Fairy to Terry's classic FF2 theme to Mizuki's theme from SS2. The mini games are fun, there's so much to do. It's as much fun and varied as Super Smash Brothers Melee, but with SNK.
Plus can you say Evangeleona? Yes Leona has Asuka and Rei outfits (I've unlocked the Asuka which actually has "II" (Unit 2)on the back)
As far as voices go. The Japanese version ALREADY has an English dub with subtitles on the Anime. They just have to change the cover art and the region. EVERYTHING ELSE is already in English. The end credits in MI2 also have English credits (even though they're not selectable)
And from the casts only a small handful of the MI1 cast is returning. Kyo, Soiree, Athena (thank god), Alba, Ryo, K', Lien, and Rock all have new voices (and I know that's not all of them)
I haven't seen the DVD yet or heard the english voices, just played the Japanese game.
Oh and Hi, hope to post more here ^^;;

I thought that game was horrible. I got a chance to play it at my local arcade and I just plain hated it. It felt really clunky and just plain unbalanced. KOF just isn't the same since I was able to play with some of my favorite KOF characters in the far superior, IMO, Capcom Vs. SNK 2.
Welcome to ANN Cain Highwind and thank you for your information on the next game. The 12 costumes and Evangelion extras are still not enough to hook me. Not until I see, or even better play, the game itself will I be able to pass my judgement on it. Like I said I am not a big fan of 3D fighters so this 3D fighter has to have something that just grabs my attention and doesn't let go.

I know I'm a newbie here, but that's just silly, KoF XI has been reagrded as one of the most fun and balanced KoFs yet from several Arcade players. I'll respect your opinion though, CvS2 was what introduced me to SNK after all. Though I look back at CVS2 and think just how horribly lacking the roster is. I'm kind of the opposite of you actually. CVS2 feels terribly clunky now compared to a good 2D KoF. But then I really fond of SNK's sense of story and aesthetics they put into their games which I think a lot of Capcom games lack. Despite SvC Chaos having all around horrible gameplay. The characters and intros made me smile.

Thanks for the welcome. The general opinion of the game (and it's intention according to Falcoon) is a game for fans NOT for serious competition. It's like an Anime based game. They're never made to be deep, just as a fun diversion with your favorite characters. but yeah, there's no point in "convincing you" until you've played it. I'd best compare it to something like Rival Schools (which I loved personally). But if you're expecting something REALLY deep, you probably won't care for MI2.

i played many KOF games. i think KOF XI is the one of the best one. most long time KOF players love it.
well are you any good on KOF games? if not it's hard for me to agree with ur opinion. i know i know this is a stupid reason to disagree with someone. But if your very good, i will respect ur opinion.

The last tournament at school I ranked number 2 at Capcom Vs. SNK 2 and have been playing KOF since 94 debuted when I was in Mexico. In fact, when I whent bacl and KOF 99 was the main game down there, my neighbors had the arcade outside their shop and it's only 1 peso, approximately 10 cents, to play. And my cousin had arcades at his shop too and I we spent all New Years Eve playing from about 8pm, until like 6am.
I consider myself being good considering the first time I ever played KOF XI, I actually got to the last guy. What pissed me off was that it was so easy to get to him when Ryo's "Quarter-Circle Forward, Half-Cirlcle Back" Super always seems to conneect and do a good amount of damage. I must admit that I had no idea how to damage the last guy though, anyone heard of SNK boss syndrome?. But the game offered so little to me and no new innovations that I just didn't even bother continuing. And seeing how it is right next to Capcom Vs. SNK 2 at my local arcade, I just had to take a couple steps to the right and play there considering it's a lot faster, more balanced characters, and other people were actually playing it.
For some reason I can't get used to games that only have High and Low attacks. I prefer Mediums as well because it adds more depth to a game and leaves it open for a lot more combos. This might make it seem like I don't like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, but even that game had assist which ads a new level of startegy, specially choosing what type of assist the charcter will do.
