Hahaha, if you listen this towards the end, they remixed bits of the Ichigo Mashimaro OP song! It's rather enchanting! Laughing

Hmm, they implied the IGPX Season 2 will be better though I'm rather skeptical; the first season was entertaining but not really memorable.

They say the CG will be better, which it really needs. The animation was already pretty good, so now hopefully the show will mix the two better

They also say Mitsuru Hongo had a big part in it so it may be a bit deeper than the first.

Which is exciting for me as I am a fan of Outlaw Star, and he had some work on that one. But you never know.

[Edit: Also say that Gundam just never picks up in America, tired of giving it a shot. Has no audience. Never got a return, won't throw money down a dark hole.
Aquired BoBoBo-Bo-Bo-BoBo through an internal likeness for the show.
Admire [as], sounds as if they wish they could work on some of there shows.]

I think there are 2 reasons why Gundam ratings are down.

1) The scheduling. I've seen the show bounced around countless times, and then placed on television at ungodly hours. How do they expect people to keep track of the schedule?

2) The fact that it's on Toonami, and not Adult Swim. You have to remember that a lot of the Toonami viewers are too young for Gundam, and the squealing "Sesshamorou is my bishie!" fangirls that don't have much interest in politics and fighting robots.

May 20th at 10:30 PM E/P, replacing Justice League Unlimited.

Um...I don't understand. Are you saying Gundam won't work on either Toonami or Adult Swim because Toonami's audience is too young and AS' audience (where Inuyasha airs) is filled with screaming fangirls?

Off topic a little, your "Sesshie is my bishie!" quote reminds me of my favorite Inuyasha fangirl statement:

"I LOVE YOU INUYASHA!!! YOU MAKE ME WANNA WASHA YA!!! INUYASHA!!! SESSHIE!!! MY CONCUBINE!!!"

Not exactly, but close enough.

I'll be honest, that makes sense. Fangirls want bishies, kiddies want action. No one wants to think.

I have to agree in regards to the air times for Gundam. It does tend to get the bad part of the schedule, especially since Toonami moved to Saturday nights. But I think they did hit it on the head. It has a lot of political intrigue, something that probably would not appeal to their target audience, teens. If Gundam was more action oriented, I could see it doing better, but it isn't. I myself love Gundam in all of its incarnations, except for SD Gundam Force. Thankfully, I can afford to buy the Gundam series as they come out.

I remember watching Gundam Wing and just being bored; I think the only reason it had good ratings was because it was on after (or was it before?) Dragon Ball Z.

OT: I remember staying up till 11 and hearing Heero say "hell" Very Happy that was awsome for CN back then.

Gundam would absolutely bomb on Adult Swim. Toonami viewers might be too young for Gundam, but Gundam is too young for AS.

Gundam needs to be five days a week to have any remote chance of doing ok. The one day a week format of Toonami destroys any chances of that happening.

I'm not really surprised about Gundam languishing on TV. With the multiple dropped balls and sometimes insane programming choices, the fanbase that existed when Wing started up has just been chisled away.Partially I blame Bandai for it, since I have a nagging feeling that they thought it would explode over here like it is in Japan and didn't really put thought in what Americans wanted, which is probably a happy medium between SDGF and Wing. Just throw a mishmosh of shows at them and they'll buy model kits like pancakes!....right

Sadly I think it was the fairly dated animation that doomed the UC gundam shows, while they do indeed rock, the american market just can't seem to stand dated animation.

I have no idea why Seed failed though, it wasn't my favorite gundam by a longshot but a lot of other people seemed to like it a lot and it had good animation. Perhaps it just moved to slow to capture the 9-14 age brackets, it was certainly too slow for me and I'm 20, plus I hated the charecters but I think I'm in the minority here

Reminds me of Hollywood movies...

I read on this very forum that "no one watched TV on Saturdays". I know most of my friends hardly watch TV on Saturday so I began thinking this might be true.

Yeah and lets not forget that they released Gundams in a bad order. Releasing Char's Counterattack before Zeta was a horrible decision.
