Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this kind of question. Has Higurashi no Naku Koro ni been licensed? If so by who? I looked in the encyclopedia. It doesn't state an English release. Thanks

If a licensing isn't mentioned in our Encyclopedia then it's 99% likely it isn't licensed, as the staff here is as diligent as anyone on the Internet about updating such things.
I would also point out that this series has only been running on TV in Japan for less than a month. The only anime titles which normally get licensed that fast are major-name titles with a lot of built-in U.S. fan name recognition (such as the Ah! My Goddess TV series, and that even went six episodes before being picked up), and even then that's not common. If this title does get licensed it probably won't be for a year or more. |

Well another series that got licensed quite quickly was Black Cat which I believe was licensed after just 8 episodes if i'm not mistaken. Also another series which got licensed in its early running was Blood+ if i'm also not mistaken. I know that Black Cat is associated with CAPCOM if i'm not mistaken again but I'm not too sure about Blood+. Just thought I'd add this information.
