Following this topic, I've decided to change the format for episode titles in a way that makes it easier to add detail incrementaly. If you go add an episode title, you can read all about the new format. It's pretty much backwards compatible with the old format, but from now on the various informations that used to be part of an episode title should be submitted separately. So instead of bunching together the date, english title, japanese title and remarks, those parts must now be entered separately. No need to convert the old submissions. Previously, submitting them separately resulted in a very ugly and broken display, but that is now fixed.

Also, I took that opportunity to update the code that displays the anime details (title, vintage, etc.) to make it output cleaner html/css. This fixes a bug with the display of ratings in firefox, but do let me know if you see weird/broken behavior; I might have introduced new bugs.

Hi, I don't think it's working quite well, as seen from Ergo Proxy episode title list. Why does some of the entries (eps 1, 5-9) look ugly after the change when they were neat previously? (animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5115&page=25). I would like to know why the air dates are spaced out now instead.

I feel that if anyone wanted to add more info to an episode title, they could first write a whole new title, plus romaji and kanji, and the REM. After that they could send an error report for them to remove the older version if approved.

Fixed. Please use capitalized tags i.e. JP: and REM: instead of jp: and rem:.
A new bug?

That was how it worked in the past. However, with over 500 error reports still pending to be processed we Encyclopedists can't catch up the speed to revise them fast enough. The new epsiode title submission system has streamlined the entire procedure, plus errors could be corrected much more easily.

Thanks a lot, those episode entries weren't mine so I could not make any changes to them. I'll keep a lookout for any anime episode lists that's still having problems and report them. Smile By the way, why are the air dates spaced out now? Is it due to the new format that caused them to be like this or are they one of the changes too?

"Spaced out?" Could you elaborate? They are perfectly fine on my computer using either MSIE or Firefox.

Ok, I fixed it to be case-insensitive so it won't be a problem anymore

Before the change, air dates were placed like this:

2006- 01.
03-25

But now they are placed like this:

2006-03-25 01.

Was this just fixed for Ergo Proxy then, everything else unfortunately still looks a bit odd (ie Mai-Otome).

Can we have the Examples posted as images instead of text? That way, we can keep the Encyclopedia clean as people won't do stupid things like copying the sample entries and posting them as episode titles.
