I turn to all those, who have had the ability and oportunity to see Elfen Lied anime.
I read some forums around the NET and met some really Wrong attitude towards this anime. I say It`s one of the best in terms of what emotions it produces, the quality of drawing and music. Somebody, tell me it`s not just me thinking this way |

Dormcat beat me to it. Elfen Lied is one of the highest rated Animation series here on ANN, which is also pretty surprising, considering Elfen Lied is by no means ordinairy.

Yeah, I know what the ratings say, but I want to know what people really think. U`know, its 3 seconds job to put a 10 for a movei You haven't even seen yet |

The rating system does not allow users to rate titles they have not seen yet, unless they lie. Ratings of quite a few titles have been spammed before, notably "masterpiece" or "worst ever" with each and every language option at ANN. |

I really liked Elfen Lied. One of the best anime I've seen IMO. It's surprising though, I usually don't like the blood and gore type anime. I think its just because right off the bat, the first episode Elfen Lied was great. It didn't really take any time for things to get interesting, so I guess that's what drew me in. I'm also a bit biased towards cute female characters with pink hair so that may have had something to do with it.

I really liked the series when I saw it subbed in my anime club, it's one of all time top ten anime. All four volumes of the series are out now and on my shelf tucked away in the nice artbox. While exceedingly violent and disturbing it has one heck of a story and a cast of interesting characters, with an odd blend of cuteness and bloody mayhem. All this comming from a guy who doesn't like the horror genre much either, this and maybe 3 or 4 other titles are all I watch in it.

Before all the less-sensible members of the audience rush off to do this, I should note that the database heuristics are actually sophisticated enough to defeat this kind of tampering. As I understand it: Should you spam the database with bogus ratings, your innate "credibility" rating will drop through the floor, and all your votes will count for very little, individually. The net result would be less effective than just telling the truth. - abunai |

Elfen Lied is literally my favorite anime. I never thought I could have a single favorite until I saw this. I'm dead serious. The storyline is nothing short of PERFECT (imo). The animation is quite good and the music is AWESOME... No, I do not think you are the only one who loves this anime. I'm sure more people love it more than hate it.

I found it to be rather addictive. My only complaint was its length. Such a great plot, but such a small number of episodes. Other than that, I was very impressed.

What can I say that hasn't been said already?
Oh I know I really liked it due to it's story and this is the first series in my collection that has constant nudity. I don't watch Hentai so this was my first full naked women walking around thing.... in anime terms. But the story is really awesome but I agree with the length thing in how it's too short and it leaves a lot of questions at the end. After I was told the story of where the manga picks up after the anime I was able to sleep a lot more comfortable but there are still questions that remain unanswered. The music was unique and awesome, the animation was top of the line and I really loved the fact that the only thing that trully looks CG were the Vectors because I don't really like CG in my anime. I want to thank whoever reviewed the first volume on ANN because that is the only reason I picked up this series. |

It was KEY wasn't it?
Anyway, I love the series too (probably my favorite)... but, I think I'll debate it since... well... It'll be fun! Few things I noticed: -I'm not an expert... but why does this come off as a Harem show? Could it be that I was bribed by the fan service into feeling sympathy for the characters? Anyway, what say you... err... people that watch HAREM shows? (if there are any in this thread) ... I'm actually going to pitch this question over at AoD one day... -The writing and logic seems kinda loose in some places -The violence isn't as intense the second time around I noticed, but the thing is, the impact of some scenes came off better on a second watch since you know where it was coming from +++++++++++++++++++++ All my bitching aside, damn, this series is awesome! *har har har* I must've watched the thing like 5 times by now and I wrote up a lot of content about the message and crap on other boards Last edited by DKL on Thu Dec 15, 2005 1:22 am; edited 1 time in total |

I've seen the first 2 DVDs, roughly about 6 or 7 episodes.
It's alright so far. I dislike the fact that Kouta and his cousin are both complete morons, and that Nyu is essentially in the same vein of Chi from "Chobits." But I do like the story and Lucy and the music for the series is a real treat. I'll have to finish it before I form final opinions. |

Personally, I don't get the whole hype about Elfen Lied. I mean, I love blood, gore, and fighting, so that part was cool, but I found the cousins nauseatingly annoying and the characters disappointingly 2-D. Instead of being a "drama", it struck me as more of a "melodrama." (Then again, I'm not really into "cute" animes.) I think Elfen Lied had a lot of potential, but honestly IMO it just wasn't that great.
