J-HipHop song like Thank you from Home Made Kazoku and also something on an international Jazz/Rap CD and also 1-2 songs from samurai champloo
and i really like J-HipHop more than what we got here. The sound is less brutal, more refreshing and more pop IMHO. so can anyone lead me to good bands? thanks anyone [EDIT: Adjusted the topic name so it wouldn't be so vague. -TK] |

M-Flo, M-Flo, aaaaaand M-Flo. Seriously, in my opinion they're the best J-hip-hop group around at the moment. As for others that I strongly recommend, SOUL'd OUT, and definitely check out more stuff from Orange Range, Dragon Ash are a really interesting combo of rock and hip-hop. The Heartsdales are a female duo that Verbal of M-Flo created. They have some nice numbers too and are great singers. And also check out the rest of the Samurai Champloo soundtrack as it's all hip-hop.
And it's not suprising that you enjoy hip-hop from Japan. It actually tends to be more upbeat and about positive subjects like love and friendship. Last edited by Jerseymilk on Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:07 am; edited 1 time in total |

Rip Slyme is the only Japanese hip-hop group that I've heard and they're pretty good. A lot of people have probably heard of them since they did the theme for Gantz.

If you want more from rapper Shing02, here's his site:
Sharp like an edge of a samurai sword! There's some free MP3s on there that are really great. Also, check out ShakkaZombie. They're a great rap duo, too. |
