I love this show!
I love the murder mystery genre, but I find that anime seems to be lacking in any good shows (I'm not fond of Detective Conan).
Sorry, I don't think I'm as far as you are, so I have no idea who Kyuu's father may be
I see your favourite character is Kyuu, but mine is Nanami because of all of his disguises (especially the cactus!) and when they showed him fight against Kaori from Pluto, his skills were finally shown.
However, whats your favourite case? Mine is the Kamikakushi village case simply because the suspense was killing me, and I never guessed that it would be Mio
OMG, I'm so sorry, I didn't realise the spoiler tags were messed up

So is this kind of like Case Closed (Detective Conan)? One case per episode (most of the time), or is it like one huge case per like 4 or 6 episodes? I like Case Closed and I wouldn't mind checking this out if it ever came to the US, unless it's here already.... why dont I just check the encyclopedia?

Most cases are like 2-4 eps long and there are some 1 eps cases in there.

haha I see, the comparation with Detective Conan is unavoidable. But i think Tantei Gakuen Q is better in many ways from Conan. First of all, characters are really interesting, the character development is an important thing in the series. The evolution of Ryu's personality is a really interesting point in the series. Cases are more complex, and the guys know always the same as the person who is watching the TV (not like in Conan where he always knows something we not), etc.
My favourite character is Nanami, he's greeeat, the master of disguise, and he's voiced by one of my favourite voice actors from Venezuela (Luis Carreño, who is also Sponge Bob hahahaha).
The caso of the Kamukakushi village was great, very exciting.
It's one of my favourite anime series ever
Bye bye, take care.

Kyu's dad is the same detective who helped him when he was kidnapped. The same detective he said he met and idolized
