Hello... I have a questions about Super Gals DVD volumes... I bought Vol 2 and 3 on Amazon.com, and on the back of the DVDs, it says there are 4-5 episodes... but there are a total of 52 episodes in Super Gals... and there are only 6 DVD volumes... so how does that add up to 52 episodes when there are only 4-5 episodes in each volume?? And is volume 6 the last volume of Super Gals DVD?

The sad answer to your question is that ADV only licensed and released the first half of the series. The remaining 26 episodes remain in licensing limbo.
But it's still a worthwhile investment 'cause the show's just insanely fun. It's an ironclad rule to see Super GALS! through to the end so have a blast! |

^ All this is true, but let's not be too quick to blame ADV for the problem. Leaving aside the issue of poor sales over here, there were never any R2 DVDs released for episodes 27-52, so the original producers don't want "reverse importation" of cheaper R1 discs to Japan. I say, get all the enjoyment from it that you can--also, rightstuf.com is closing out the Super Gals! discs at less than $10 per disc (even for the Vol.1 + Box), which seems to happen with most ADV series that get a thinpack release. |
