Considering the big budget that films such as this would need to be marketed as "Hollywood worthy", and how the content material isn't too friendly for live-action to begin with, they kinda have to bank on well-known and established actors. But yeah, that still kinda stinks.

Personally, I don't think I'd have much of an issue if Keanu Reeves was to indeed go ahead with the Cowboy Bebop film role. He'd at least be closer in age to Spike, and he could probably carry at least some modicum of the swagger and coolness inherent in Spike. But as Kaneda as well? Ehh... if he were to somehow end up playing as both roles, it would just be like an anime voice actor that voices two super prolific characters, which we already get too much of in our fandom.

For some reason, this made me laugh out loud when I read the title. Keanu is trying to get in all the anime movies. Or maybe since Bebop is becoming more far-fetched he's trying to jump on the other big anime movie. I'm not mad at him for it. I just find it kinda funny.

Indeed, here we go again with the complaints and the yapping about US adapt anime into live-action, but not a single complaint about how Japan and Asia adapt anime into live-action and yes there were some bad one made from Asia.

The answer is simple: it seems the characters in the live-action movie will not be teens but re-written as adults.

I'm done with live action adaptations. Call me when Keanu is not in any productions.

We may as well just copy/paste the last topic and switch Pattinson's name with Reeve's

Wake me when Keanu Reeves is cast in the only role he was believable in with Bill and Ted 3. Of course, he wasn't acting in that movie, he really is that dumb, but it was the perfect role for him.

I think they are trying to re-live their youth. In some cases, its really creepy and in others, it makes no sense.

I'd say this makes no sense than it is creepy.

I don't think the live action Akira will be as bad as Dragon Ball, but the chances of it being utterly horrid and not worth watching at all now are much higher.

Seriously Hollywood, why must you continue to make movies like this? You probably would make more money making generic comedies than these. Seriously what is next, a Naruto live action movie or a Poke'mon live action movie?

First Speed Racer, then Dragon Ball Z and now Akira.
