That's sad. His work was among the very first exposures to anime for me.
I hope his spirit will live on in future anime creators. |

Yeah, Star Blazers was my first ever anime though I didn't know it as that then. It was that "brilliant Japanese cartoon". I never heard the Japanese open. Did he also compose the open score for the English dub as well then? At 75 he lived a bit longer than some of recent reports. May his spirit find peace.

Aww, I hate it when people die. I've never seen these anime, but I have heard of them. I hope he rests in peace.

That's the same as me. I'm sorry about this to those who are a fan of his and are members of his family. It's always sad when someone dies. |

His music for Yamato was brilliant. At least his work will continue to be appreciated by oldschool anime fans. :}

I purchased the Yamato movie boxset at Otakon last year. I think the music in Final Yamato was especially great and moving. He was definitely talented.

The scores for Final Yamato, though, were partially supported by HANEDA _Macross_ Kentaro.

Yes, I believe Star Blazers did use his score.
Truly one of the greats. Besides the Yamato theme song, I really liked the White Comet and Andromeda themes from the second season. |
