My dad watches old cartoons like Tom And Jerry... but he'll watch DBZ, well he used to when it would come out in spanish on Telemundo like 5 years ago. He watched from the beginning of DBZ, all the way to the end of the Cell "Saga". He used to wake me up so I can watch it with him cause it would air saturday mornings at 8am.

I know my mom used to watch anime when she lived in Japan. She's mentioned old school titles such as The Rose of Versailles, Cyborg 009, and Kimba, the White Lion. Every morning she watches Chibi Maruko-chan along with the JP morning news. She would sit down and watch if some anime like Azumanga Daioh were playing already.

My mum and I have the same tastes - so she watches most anime that I watch! Whether it's Gundam Seed, Perfect Blue, GITS or Azumanga Daioh.
It's really good because we get to share our viewpoints on the programme and how we expect it to turn out (if it's a series). |

Over in the UK on toonami I would wait for new justice league episodes last summer. Before that One piece was on and by proxy, because me and my bro were watching, so was my mum.
But they semed to just constantly repeat the same seven episodes of the sanji arc, this pissed my mum off good and proper to the point where she stole my laptop off me, headed to her room and snatched my fansubs off me just so she could see the end. Not sure if that counts... |

I wish my parents watched anime. They just view them as "cartoons" though. Ones that exist for the sole purpose of entertaining and not having any deep meaning. Which there are a lot of I guess. But there's a whole bunch of anime that has more meaning then that. I suppose I've got Pokemon to blame for them thinking that way though. My parents do know about Pokemon and I was a huge fan of it for a while. I went to card tournaments, played video games, and everything and they knew all about it. When I got over Pokemon and started watching other anime they seem to view it all as Pokemon and usually call every anime I watch Pokemon. So ya, they view all anime as Pokemon. Them seeing me watch Galaxy Angel all the time doesn't help though I guess. I've wanted to show them some anime with meaning but I don't think they'd be interested and my parents really cannot sit through watching anything without falling asleep unless it's a sitcom. Often times they tell me to "grow up"... ya, I wish I could show them something like Elfen Lied, but they have nowhere near the patience.

My mother is a big fan of classic novels, particularly those written by Jane Austen, so it didn't take me much effort to lure her into the world of anime with Victorian Romance Emma and Gankutsuou. Unfortunately, my father is completely uninterested in anime.

My dad sort of watched Wolf's Rain or listened to it when I was watching one of the DVDs.

My mother would never watch anything anime.
I've shown a few to my Dad. Escaflowne the movie was the first one I showed him. The opening sequence of Van on board the airship startled him just a bit but I think that he did like it. I also showed him the episode of Last Exile when Alex Row has the ship to ship duel with that idiot captain. He enjoyed that, since it was beautifully done. I think that I'm going to show him the Miyazaki films I've recently gotten. I'm pretty sure he'll like Howl. Totoro I'm not sure of but will show him anyway. But, I know that he'll get a big kick out of Porco Rosso. I think he'll really enjoy that one. There will be somethings he'll recognize and appriciate for the time frame (the Movie posters for one.) Not sure if I'm going to play that first or last...hmmmm. |

My parents don't watch anime. My mom is not a huge fan of it after watching Sailor Moon, Cutey Honey, and DBZ. My dad doesn't really care.

Not really. My mom was more cool about it than my dad, tho'. My mom's into sci-fi stuff, so my husband and I had her watch Metropolis. I don't think she liked it much. She did also sit in with me once and watch a bit of Weiss Kreuz and started rooting for the bad guys. Mom also knows a bit about series I used to obsess over and can recognize Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun, but she's never actually sat down and watched any series. I believe we got her to watch Spirited Away once, too. ...well, if not, she's probably seen it because my sister loves it and she tends to watch movies over and over and over...
My dad used to poke fun at me. ^^; I don't think he's ever watched anything, but he does like the opening theme from Cowboy Bebop. |

My Dad likes Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo. He thinks it has the humor of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
