Well, I guess this ends all the talk of "How much will be edited". Be sure to watch it next Saturday only on Toonami

Well, that's not really much of a surprise, it was PG-13 when it hit the theaters after all so that's pretty consistent.

FYI, CN already aired this movie a few weeks ago on Fridays, so you should've expected it to remain uncut.

But just wait till next weekend, when we get to hear Billy Bob Thornton say "horsep*ss" in Mononoke. Laughing

No they didn't. This is the first time they're ever airing it.

It was almost rated R until Disney bought a PG 13 off the MPAA.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened Rolling Eyes . Sorry, but while it is violent there is nothing in it to warrant an R rating. There's movies out today, when the MPAA has stricter standards, that have PG-13 ratings with more violence and language in them. Of course, there's always a conspiracy thoerist around for everything.

This is a good thing. Had they made it rated PG or something then they would have edited it to the point where the movie would be viwed at half the time. Speaking o which i hope that all they do is cut for time constraints and not any of the edits that they have been doin to EVA when its been showed on AS. Let's all hope for the best shall we?

Whoops, I got confused with Spirited Away. Anime smile + sweatdrop

Holy crap, CN's gonna be showing samurai getting their arms and heads blown off and Billy Bob using a strong curse word. Sweet. Cool

Oh my god, you are overreacting. The only edits made to Eva were the bleeping of a few curse words and one nudity shot was cut. That's it. Some of the episodes were even rated TV-MA. That's certainly better than how the first two episodes fared when they aired on Toonami in 2003.

Oh, and Miyazaki will not allow his films to be edited. This has been stated numerous times, but if you missed it, no one, not Disney, not TCM, and not CN, is allowed to edit his films in any way, shape or form.

How could someone even consider giving it an R? Akira I can understand but Mononoke? There's a couple arms missing here, a couple scenes of blood and stuff, but that's something I probably missed.

Akira has roughly the same violence as Mononoke, plus tits. That should not make it an R anymore than Titanic or Temple of Doom, but because Geneon doesn't have deep pockets, it got one anyway.

hahahaha.... oh man thats funny. The same violence? What Akira where you watching. And that arm that was chopped off on Mononoke, I believe it only happened once and the guy was on a horse and turned around to look at it and made a weird face... the scene didn't even feel violent because the characters didn't really react to it. I would have said "Holy F**k you got your Mother-F****n arm shot off by a F****n arrow. Kill the B***h". I saw the movie again a week ago cause my girlfriend hadn't seen it. I have no reason to watch this one again, I am looking forward to the movies I haven't seen though. I was hoping for Totoro, but Castle in the Sky will do... I forgot the other movie that is scheduled to be aired.

That's a complete load of nonsense. Akira is much more violent than Mononoke, whose only violence is a bloodless scene of some samurai losing their limbs. Akira, on the other hand, features people getting shot with bullets and lasers, people getting blown up by Tetsuo, and all kinds of street violence. Comparing it to Mononoke is ridiculous, and the way you said it sounds like all you notice about the entire movie are the tits which I don't even remember seeing. There's no way CN would show a movie THAT THEY'RE NOT ALLOWED TO EDIT if it has breasts.

Princess Mononoke CAN'T be edited in any presentation. It's in the contract for Disney's acquisitions of the Miyazaki films.

Alex, I think you misread GATSU's comment. The tits were in Akira.

Besides that, I totally agree. Akira is far more violent than Monoke.
