I'm actually pretty glad that Bandai is going to give Hoop Days another chance to establish a fanbase in the Western market. I rented the first volume last year and thought it was a pretty decent series, slightly better than Slam Dunk (and much better than Slam Dunk in terms of presentation), and $50 for an entire series is a pretty good deal.

True, but this kinda screws the people who bought the first two volumes, doesn't it? Granted, it's still cheaper than the standard disc by disc release, but the people who bought those volumes were making an investment.
