Well, it's pretty much confirmed it'll suck just as badly here as it did in Japan.
That aside, the first volume (with about the only good episodes in the entire series, misleadingly enough) is due out in mid-March. The 14th, to be specific.

Well! What I know is that according to a post on AnimeOnDVD.com's forums by Melazoma, Bandai is aiming for a first quarter 2006 release for SEED DESTINY. Specifically, early January is said to be in consideration.

I have heard no news regarding GSD airing on cartoon network, nor would i be surprised if they didn't. Gundam Seed was put on a deadly air time that killed the veiwer ratings IIRC. Playing the sequel for an anime that didn't have a big veiwer audience seems kinda pointless. I believe its coming straight to DVD.

It was an average performer in its Toonami slot, and if I recall, performed well enough in the 1:00AM slot to revive interest in placing programming there.
Either way though, I'd say it has a more or less 50-50 chance of showing up. It might, it might not, and here's me hoping it'll be at a time I'm busy watching something else.

Don't quote me on this, but apparently YTV will be airing GSD in Canada in a few months.

Well! I am sure that YTV will be airing GSD. I live in Canada and I watched GS on YTV and + it has been airing for a year and almost 4 months, so I know that it will be airing on YTV in September 2006 and many new anime series will be airing too. YTV is really great! It has many great anime series and espacially Friday when I come from school, I am like tired and I start watchin this anime series and I pass all my night watching : Inuyasha, Witch Hunter Robin, Zatch Bell, Gost In The Shell Complex, DBZ, DBGT, Naruto, Gundam Seed, Hack/Sign, One Piece, D.I.C.E..., amazing!

Actually the funny thing is that Seed got better ratings at it's 1:00 AM air time than it did on Toonami...

Actually, it will probably be April.
And I'm really getting less and less impressed by YTV as time goes on. Their decision to air a show that's totally inappropriate for their network, like Ghost in the Shell, over a sure fire hit with their target audience, Fullmetal Alchemist, just screams "incompetence".
And 4Kids' One Piece and DICE are most certainly not amazing.
