Anime is a strong wind blowing over
normal american cartoons, So I
ask people this, why aren't animation
shows on television more? Why isn't
animation a big thing here? Are people
over looking the art? Are people just
closed to the ideas that come with
animation? Do people in america even understand
the difference between cartoons and anime.

Emperor M@: Ask youself these questions and reply.[/quote]

How about some examples? Cartoons like Spiderman or cartoons like Tom and Jerry? Well, the question itself is pretty stupid IMO.

Alucard wins. Happy?

I know its stupid but its just a question that
I thought of when I was woundering why
animation hasn't taken over the cartoon scene
in america. And why cartoons like spider man are still around.

haven't people realized that stupid super hero storys
are out and shows like batman are dead...

Thats why I even put it up...
something that was meant to be funny..
Was it over your head or you
just couldn't stand a question that actually made
you think and use your mind......

Well, cut out any animation for you...
All animation makes you think, you'd better
stick to checker's and leave wit to smart
people.

M@, is just a code I go by let
me decipher it for you:

M@ is for people like yourself with
a penny brain not able to understand
a joke when you see one.

Animation Vs. cartoons

the joke is right their within the post
animation would beat a cartoon like they'd
stole somethingm, actually it wasn't talking
about the character's but the popularity of
the two. I Knew I would get this response
from everyone...

I guess its true, when you show a sucker some
candy they'll take it with out question....

   not from you!!!

you just took mine genius, and obviously you are one of those kids who thinks everyone is stupid but you, when in actuallity you are just trying to rationalize your stupidity. By the way M@ is something that only a child would say or use. Thanks but smallville, on tv, is a huge show (superman) and batman begins was a huge movie and there is a new superman movie. Anime is still the minority in america and it always will be when compared to cartoons, there is not enough of a fan base in america. Any other stupid questions M@

Piece of advice, it doesn't really benefit you or anyone to just openly insult people for asking a perfectly legitimate question, and especially don't sit there and mock their intelligence when your post alone has major writing errors and you use such intellectual words as "lol". Add to that the fact this is all about your thread that's pitting animation against cartoons in some sort of grudge match despite the fact that cartoons are animation.

Just because your closed minded to one side doesn't mean others have to be as well. Which will win? Who cares? There's different genre's for different tastes, not everyone thinks and see's things as you do and may see what you praise as crap where you see what they praise in the same light. It's a diverse world with diverse personalities and you do not make the ultimate determination of what is great and what is not. Now take into account from your further posts that you're obviously incredibly bias in regards to this issue so it really is starting to seem like your whole intent here is to create a flamefest. So simply, post something intelligent in the future, especially if you're going to set yourself upon a pedestal as a poster boy for intelligence.

OMG someone just lock this thread before it leaks stupidity everywhere. The first 5 replies have shown exactly how obviously pointless this thread is.

Ok I'll bite.

Who would win, Wolverine or Gatsu (from Berserk) ?

I think Gatsu wouldn't stand a chance. No matter how strong he is his sword won't cut through the adamantium skeleton.

Here's an interesting one:

Ironman or Kira Yamato (inside his gundam of course)?

1) I think I know the answer to this. It is because of 2 reasons:

a) Animes deal with many issues Americans are not used to or do not want their children to see. Things like drugs, nudity and violence. If you look at american cartoons there is 0% violence. Even in cartoons like GIJoe, a war cartoon, there are explosions and gunshots but nobody ever ever ever dies in American cartoons. If you compare that to a good anime like Bleach where every episode people are getting cut with huge machetes and gallons of blood are bursting out of the wounds, you'd find that is probably not acceptable for the television networks in the US to show.

b) Syndicate laws. Most animes are too short. I don't know if you have heard the story behind Robotech. This guy wanted to bring some nice animes to the US but the US syndicate laws required the number of episodes to be above a certain number. So what he had to do was merge 3 completely different and unrelated animes and change the dialogues so it tells a brand new story.

2) Why doesn't anybody answer my question? Who would win, Kira Yamato or Ironman?

3) What the heck means m@?

Wolverine, and Kira would get terminated by Iron Man
