Seems everything's using Unreal Engine, Epic Games must be earning more out of that licensing than their own games.

The news wasn't revealed, it was leaked. It's gonna be unveiled at EVO in a few hours.

Definitely, engine licensing can be more lucrative than selling games. They're competing with Unity and Crytek, but Unity is the only other company that has made some Japanese inroads. Epic decided to also focus on the Japanese market and operated in Japan since 2010, hence a variety of games like Guilty Gear Xrd using UE3:
