Well, this is the first topic I have created or commented on in a long time. I noticed that there is now an EVA thin pack for about $60 now. Great, I just bought the first volume and art box .
Well, I also found about the Rurouni Kenshin Economy Box Set. So far all I have seen is season one, but I'm not sure which episodes it contains. Is it just the same as the onther, more expensive, box set? Are they comming out with two more? Unfourtunitaly I have the first Kenshin box so I still have to get the other two, so any info would help. |

release#5341 It's basically the same as the box that came out last year, just with a different design and lower price. Yes, there will be 2 more (one for each season).

I've heard in some places that the EVA thinpak is only six discs without extras, though it does say seven discs on the ANN release info. I think it's better to get the cool art box and the individual discs, as the booklets and disc extras are worth it.

I bought the "Perfect Collection", the first complete collection I ever purchased, a couple of years ago and if I knew the "Platinum Collection" would be released, I would have waited but anyway,
Rurouni Kenshin Economy Box 2 - Release Date is Jan. 17 2006 Rurouni Kenshin Economy Box 3 - Release Date is Feb. 14 2006 I only have season 2, single DVD form, but I have been focusing on school so once school is over, I'll definetly pick up economy season 1 and even though I heard season 3 was crap I'll still pick it up just for the hell of it, I try to complete every series that I purchace and like. |

Heh. You probably won't be liking any of season three. I wouldn't even download or borrow a bootleg of it, much less recommend anyone to even pay $40+ for the economy set. If you haven't read or heard what happened in the manga past Kyoto (Seisouhen does not count, as Watsuki-sensei even disowned it), then you probably won't be as dissapointed. But rest assured, all of season three's filler retains next to nothing of what the Kenshin franchise should represent. |

I think im still just going to get the eva thin pack, I already have the first kenshin box (not economy) a year ago, I would have just said "F* it, i want all the boxes to look the same" but not anymore. I just want to be able to see the show.

You might as well just real the original manga with the included Jinchuu Arc, best arc in the whole kenshin series. |

I'm not sure how big the previous collection's box was, but I just received the first season economy box, and must say how surprised I am at it's size. They manage to fit six DVDs into a container that is about the size of 1.5 normal DVD cases. This is about half the size off ADVs thinpaks. This is really good news for those of us who are out of shelf space. Now that is economy for you.

I really like that design. I first saw it when I bought the Gundam 0083 and 08th MS Team and yeah they save a lot of space, but I don't like how they look on my shelf. But if you are running out of space, more power to ya. I recently purchased the "premium" Berserk complete collection instead of the economy box. Sure I paid $30 more but now a days let's just say I spend about $70 on gas per week so another 30 doesn't really seem like a big deal to me. It has been a while since I bought myself something too so this was a nice "gift" for myself.
