Ok, so I've read reviews on some thinpaks saying they didn't have the same extras as the regular DVDs. How can you tell if a thinpak does or doesn't have the extas?

I'm mainly interested in the Chrono Crusade and GitS:SAC thinpaks.

Wait, there's a thinpack box set of Stand-Alone Complex?

And generally, while ADV tends to keep their thinpacks Extra-free, Geneon and the others (or at least Geneon, I haven't had much experience with Bandai or FUNimation on the issue) are keeping all the Extras intact.

... Actually, if it helps, GITS is being bundled together at TRSI...

Yeah, it's a pretty good deal (I think)

But it's no thinpak

And it's usually best to just ask (like us!)

I have the CHRONO CRUSADE thinpak...

It doesn't have ANY extras... what else are you looking into?

There are no guarantees on this, but one way is to check the disc count -- if the thinpak has as many discs as the original release, it has the DVD extras, but if it has fewer, it is extra-free. And as I've said on several other threads, three that I know of that have the extras are Noir, RahXephon, and Full Metal Panic! ; these have 7 discs just like the original release. Everything else I've seen condenses 24-26 eps > 5 discs, 12-13 eps > 3 discs and does not have extras. I'm pretty sure that Chrno Crusade does not.

BUT THEN, the new TRIGUN release seems to have all the crap from the older DVDs even though it's on 3 discs (for the first-half)

...

It's best to ask around, totally...

But then, it's almost totally sure if you get the newer ADV thinpaks as they tend to have all of the extras taken out

I was hoping that somebody would read this that had the Chrono Crusade thinpak. So, do you think the extras are something that one would miss?

Actually, I think you'll need to talk to someone who had the SINGLES to have that question answered >_>

Lemme see what they are...

... just reading about them, I'm kinda missing them already Confused

The AZMARIA EXTRA CLASSES thing kinda catches my attention... I especially would like to see those considering that Azmaria is really cute Confused

Anyway, read up more at AoD, since they seem to cover this department...

ANYWAY, it depends on what you want, for the most part, I'm satisfied with the actual show... I didn't follow the initial release, so saving money is nice...

If you got cash to burn though, the singles seem like a nice investment as far as extras go... this is only speculation though, you'll need to talk with someone who actually HAS the things
